May your Halloween night be full of as many treats as tricks.
May the Great Pumpkin bring you everything you wished for.
And may you never get a rock.

Hi, everyone!
Doc Bowman here with a very special holiday message!
Tomorrow is Halloween, which my owners — the flame-haired one and the nice one — says is the greatest time of the year! It’s the time when kids get candy, horror movies are on TV, and my owners get to play dress up or, if it’s anything like last year, barely get dressed at all.
But it’s also a time when stupid people do bad things. I’m a black cat so both the flame-haired and the nice-one say that I’m not going to be allowed go outside at all tomorrow. They say it doesn’t matter how much I beg, I’m staying inside. I know they’re doing the right thing but I’m still going to beg and knock things off of tables and counters because I’m a cat and that’s what I do. And they’re going to hopefully give me a lot of treats and pet me to keep me happy, even though they’ll probably have to lock me in the flame-haired one’s room to keep me from running for the front door every time they open it for a trick or treater. That’s just the way thing go at the cat’s house.
Tomorrow night, please make sure that all your pets are safely inside. It may sound like a silly concern but not everyone out there is as nice and wonderful as my owners and the people who read this site!
Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone!

Are you ready for Halloween night?
4 Or More Shots From 4 Or More Films is just what it says it is, 4 shots from 4 of our favorite films. As opposed to the reviews and recaps that we usually post, 4 Shots From 4 Films lets the visuals do the talking!
Today, we are proud to honor one of the greatest and most influential of directors of all time, John Carpenter! Carpenter is something of a patron saint around these parts. He’s more than just a horror director but it would be foolish to pretend as if his horror films haven’t forever changed the genre.
It’s time to celebrate the man and his movie with….
8 Shots Form 8 John Carpenter Films

Only 8 more days to Halloween!
That, of course, is from 1982’s Halloween 3: The Season of the Witch. The makers of the new Halloween films might not care for the original sequels but just try to get that Silver Shamrock song out of your head! Even more importantly, just try to listen to it without thinking about the mask melting into your face and turning into a bunch of spiders and snakes. It can’t be done. That’s the sign of an effective horror movie. An effective horror movie is all scaring the audience and not about worrying about whether or not the critics are going to get it.
Speaking of horror, just 8 more days til Halloween Halloween! Just 8 more days til Hallowen! Silver Shamrock!

Did you ever wonder what happens after all the action is over in a Christmas horror movie and it’s the next day- Christmas Morning? Did you further wonder if that question could be answered in just over 3 minutes? Then, this is the short for you!!!!
It’s crazy; I’m on such a roll right now because I have watched so many great shorts! I was EXTREMELY dubious that a 3.766 minute short could entertain me let alone Laugh Out Loud (as the kids say). This short delivered, therefore, these are the greatest actors of all time and the director is both the greatest director and writer of all time (Mathematical proof available upon request). If you look at the imdb pages of Rebeca Robles, Eric Whitten, and Nicholas Santos, I am once again proven correct (which is the most important thing in life).
This is another must see short. These actors are just terrific!

Hey my readers!!!! It is time for another horror review. I probably should be studying Differential Equations or determining the velocity of CO2 molecules on Venus…Really, I did that today- They move at .649 m/s. If you’re ever on Venus and wonder, Man this CO2 is really a mindbender…I wonder how fast the molecules are movin’? SPOILER ALERT- It’s .649 m/s. If I had a dollar for everytime that I needed to know how fast the air on Venus is blowin’ around- I’d have…I’d have exactly one dollar.
The WNUF Halloween Special is the best home movie ever made. The entire budget was $1500.00. Yep, that was it. I’m not going to judge this film too harshly. Did it have flaws? Sure, but 1500 bucks?! It was clear to me that the people who put their hearts and souls into making this treated it like a million dollar budget.
WNUF Halloween Special has 1980s ads that are so on point; it’s all but impossible to tell them from the real thing. Honestly, I would bet dollars to donuts that the Duffer Brothers saw this film and were more than inspired by it.
The movie is presented as a live broadcast of a local news station on Halloween. The commercials were absolutely accurate. I remember being a little kid and seeing these ads and remember dressing up for Halloween and my Gen X babysitters with their big hair and crazy makeup.
The newscast focuses on a Haunted House and the B-story of a group of right-wing religious fanatics. The movie came out just a bit before the Conjuring. This nostalgia drips a bit every 20 years or so. The movie does a good job of delivering a couple of scares. More importantly, it has a heart of determination to put out a movie. This movie was loved. If you have a Shudder subscription, it’s a must watch!
