  1. Gene Shalit was the source for one of the best jokes I ever wrote in a film review. Okay, it might have been the only joke I wrote in a film review.

    Yet now is the time to be serious

    So, with that in mind, congratulations to Gene Shalit for achieving something truly remarkable: living for 100 years — without brushing his hair.
