Lisa’s Week In Review: 5/11/20 — 5/17/20

This week, I finished binging The Sopranos and then, as the result of an ill-advised twitter poll, I followed that up by watching all 6 seasons of the HBO prison drama, Oz.  To be honest, Oz wasn’t really for me but twitter polls are legally binding so I was obligated to watch the whole series.  I’ve now started in on Deadwood, which I should be able to knock out in about 3 days.

As far as our quarantine is going, we are currently in the process of reopening down here in Texas.  Myself, I’m still working at home at least through June.

Anyway, here’s what I watched and read and listened to this week!

Lisa’s Week In Review: 5/4/20 — 5/10/20

Well, here we are at the end of another week.  Some parts of the country are still locked down and some are not.  It’s a little bit hard to keep track of what’s open and what isn’t.  Right now, everyone just seems to be making it up as they go along.

With a lack of new movies to watch and review, I spent most of this week binging The Sopranos.  I’m currently on Season 5 and, as of right now, I’m totally caught up in the misadventures of the New Jersey mob.  Once I’m done with The Sopranos, I’ll probably check in with the gangsters of Boardwalk Empire and the cowboys of Deadwood.  I’m trying to binge as many of these shows as I can before they leave Prime for HBO MAX.

In other news, I finally saw the episode of The Love Boat that features Andy Warhol as a passenger on the cruise!  Seriously, I first read about this episode like 13 years ago and, ever since, I’ve been checking the TV listings to see if it would ever show up on any of the retro stations!  Today, it was broadcast on MeTV!  I saw it and yes, I DVRed it.

Anyway, stay safe out there.  Can you believe that, in just another month and a half, we will be halfway through 2020.  With the lockdown and all the rest, it almost feels like this year really hasn’t even begun yet.

Lisa’s Week In Review: 3/30/20 — 4/05/20

The lockdown continues.

One good thing: Black Widow has been moved back to November 6th.  That’s three days before my birthday so, assuming that I can actually go outside in November and that the Alamo Drafthouse manages to reopen, Black Widow can be my free birthday movie!  (Never give up hope.)

It’s interesting to think about actually.  All of the summer blockbusters are getting pushed back into what is traditionally Oscar season.  So, it’s easy (or maybe just entertaining) to imagine a situation where the Oscar race comes down to Black Widow vs Wonder Woman 1984 vs Top Gun: Maverick.

We’ll see what happens!  Here’s my report for this week:

Lisa’s Week In Review: 3/16/20 — 3/22/20

I’m stuck at home due to the Coronavirus but I’m healthy, I’m locked in with two of my favorite people and my favorite cat, and I’ve got movies to watch, books to read, and music to listen to.  So, I’m not going to complain.

Fortunately, I’ve also got this super goofy picture of Joe Biden to keep me amused:

“Folks, a reverse mortgage is just a good and safe way for seniors to protect their assets while keeping their homes….”

Seriously, it’s the little things that keep you going through a crisis.
