Monday Live Tweet Alert: Join Us for Animal Protector!

As some of our regular readers undoubtedly know, I am involved in hosting a few weekly live tweets on twitter and occasionally Mastodon.  I host #FridayNightFlix every Friday, I co-host #ScarySocial on Saturday, and I am one of the five hosts of Mastodon’s #MondayActionMovie!  Every week, we get together.  We watch a movie.  We snark our way through it.

Tonight, for #MondayActionMovie, the film will be 1989’s Animal Protector!

If you want to join this watch party, just hop onto Mastodon, pull up Animal Protector on YouTube, start the movie at 8 pm et, and use the #MondayActionMovie hashtag!

Enjoy!

  1. Swedish animal rights action film. Extremely strange things are happening at a US military base under the command of Colonel Whitlock. Under the pretext of necessary animal testing, Whitlock is illegally developing chemicals for biological warfare.

In other words, this is essentially a documentary disguised as an action movie.

There is not, by the way, any such thing as “necessary animal testing”, yet some people are goofy enough to think that a rabbit will react to all pharmaceutical products in the same way that a human will.

There’s another preview for this movie, one where it makes the character played by David Carradine appear heroic, when Whitlock is in fact the villain. I’m guessing the person who made the previews for this thing was just told to make the previews appear as violent as possible.
