Here’s What Won At The Emmys Last Night!

Last night, Lisa Marie did not watch the Emmys because she says that, “I’m just not feeling TV this year.”  If Twin Peaks had been eligible to be nominated, I bet it would have been a different story!

Orphan Black: Extended Trailer

orphanblackYou all know I love Orphan Black as much as anyone! And I literally just bounced up and down off my seat when I saw the new trailer during BBCA new show ClassDW!

From the Orphan Black YT page:

The clone sisterhood has been through it all together. From assassinations, detrimental illnesses, monitors and accidental murders to suburban drug fronts, kidnappings, male clones and biological warfare – there isn’t anything thBlis lot hasn’t experienced. ors and accidental murders to suburban drug fronts, kidnappings, male clones and biological warfare – there isn’t anything thBlis lot hasn’t experienced. But through it all, they’ve remained united in their love and mission to keep each other safe at all costs. They’ve sacrificed their families, the loves of their lives, and any true sense of normalcy, all for the chance to liberate themselves from forces much bigger than any one of them. This season, they must all fight for the family they’ve chosen, for a new future and ultimately, for freedom.

Orphan Black extended trailer can be seen here!

Okay, this was a bit exciting to me! And I can not wait until #CloneClub is back on June 10th!

After Pluto: I am my new normal

Review of the new web series After Pluto

After pluto

Cast:

Lane Allison as Truman Welles

Griffin Burns as Wes Welles

Christopher Carver as Ian Barnes

Tiffany Commons as Diane Montgomery

Preview:

You are a best selling author, married to the perfect man, having the life you dreamed of and everything is perfe……. Forget about it….

Whoa! Let’s back up for a bit. Birthday partayyy!! *Shhuusssh* we all should just *shush*

It’s Trumans (Lane Allison) birthday and all of her friends are throwing her an unexpected party when then unexpected Tru shows up. As all of the guest listen in, Tru reviles that she has recently filed for divorce. *Suprise* Oh, wait, I did that early; Tru’s husband, Ian shows up to the party. *SUPRISE* …Umm, awkward!

Then a *trip* down the stairs…

Then let’s fall right into this….six weeks later…with no memory of what is going on….

What is left of your life with no memories? How do you put your life back together?

“I am my new normal”

We all love a marriage counselor who can’t get his stories straight! We just need the “meat and potatoes” of this. I love how the “therapist” turns things on himself!

“What is the last thing you remember” “Pluto being downgraded as a planet”

“Shit…” “And you are going to need to soon” I love how Tru an Ian are getting along now!

Just to be honest, I want somebody to love me the way Ian loves Tru!

There are things we need to talk about:

Especially the *slippery condom* But we will get to that later! I hope!

“We need to know about Emma!”

Can Diane be anymore awesome? (she is pretty damn awesome!)

Review:

Actually, I really loved this pilot of a web series!

Looking forward to more episodes, and I have it on good authority from After Pluto’s production company (A Right Forever Productions) that new episodes are coming soon!

After Pluto pilot episode can be found here:

Four episode test: #Greenleaf

First off, this is my first post on TSL since being back from my health scare, happy that is over with, for now! So I will be back to reviewing and posting TV stuff you want to know about on a regular basis again! 🙂

I am going to start my TV reviews with Greenleaf, and do it in a bit of an unorthodox way. You will see what I mean in a minute.

What is Greenleaf about?

It is a family drama, a bit soapy, but a bit gritty. Grace Greenleaf, with her daughter, comes back to her Tennessee home for a funeral. Shortly after she is plunged into the family secrets she so longed to keep herself and her daughter out of. Mixed in a setting of betrayal, infidelity and a lot of scandal.

Who is in it, you ask? I got that answer too!

Grace: (Merle Dandridge) of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ fame and others

Bishop James: (Keith David) who needs no introduction

Aunt Mavis (Some lady named Oprah, but I can’t find much about her)

What does Greenleaf bring to the table?

Greenleaf is the first time the OWN network has branched out in it’s own scripted series. Prior to this series it it has tried with Oprahs talk show and some Tyler Perry shows, most with hitting ratings bottoms .

Review:

Very character driven. I got invested in them really quick. I wasn’t expecting much going in, but after watching four episodes, I am hooked! It differs greatly from what you would think this type of show would be. There is nothing campy about it. The acting lacks for a bit, but all the drama you want is there.

Four episode test*?

After four episodes I am giving it a B+ I will definitely keep watching!

Greenleaf airs on the OWN network Wednesdays at 10pm East. with re-airs prior to that.

*four episode test = after four epis I stay or go

Happy to be posting back at TSL!

What to watch on TV this week.

With November sweeps coming to an end, so does the fall TV season. As much as a mixed bag of shows this season has brought us, here are a few fall/winter finales you might want to check out.

And Since I am posting this on Sunday… Let’s start with today!

Sunday, November 29th

Okay, not technically the fall finale, as there will be one more episode of ‘Once Upon a Time’ this fall. But if you are not keeping up with the drama of Emma and her dark swan, you should be! Also, Hook and Gold might finally have their confrontation!

Here is the promo!

And I know we all are waiting on the mid-season finale of ‘The Walking Dead’  There are rumors of a major death in tonight’s episode. But let’s take our mind off that for a minute and just try and figure out how the peace will be broken!

Here is the promo!

Holy Frak! Did we all make it thru Sunday night? Are we all okay? We still have several more days to go!

Monday, November 30th

In ‘Gotham’ Bruce is abducted, and to get a little darker (not like this season could) Jim has to find an unlikely alliance. You can probably guess who that is! (or not)

Here is a glimpse of the future!

Okay, Okay! I get it! Those shows were dark and we all need a bit of funny now! And the CW can bring that! ‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ Has its winter finale tonight, too. I am not going to gush, but paired with ‘Jane The Virgin’ these two shows make a hilarious Monday night! After an amazing Thanksgiving episode, Rebecca moves on to Christmas. I am Team Greg, but you all can have your own opinion…Wait, who is zooming who’s Mom!

Here is a sneak peak!

We got all this so far? We okay? Because the TV week is fixing to get complicated. We got a two night cross-over event to get thru now! Fortunately there is only one promo to get thru.

Tuesday and Wednesday December 1st and 2nd

The Flash and Arrow cross-over event happens. Starting with Savage attacking Kendra and Barry takes her to Star City seeking help From Oliver. In the Back half, Oliver and Barry work together to defeat Savage.

Two night preview!

Just when you thought the week was done. Nope, we still got the best show on TV right now to go! Wednesday also brings us the fall finale of ‘Empire’ Where will Empire land? Is Dynasty on the rise? Is Anika that crazy? Can the family pull together?

Here is the best guess I got!

Along with those shows, Rosewood, Reign and the ABC comedies all have their fall finales this week.

Wow, we made it to Thursday and all the way thru November sweeps! If we all aren’t brain dead by now, Let’s talk about ‘The Wiz Live!’

Happy TV viewing!

But I want get on to something else, Tracy Morgan; OMG, when he came out and gave his speech, I won’t lie, I cried! After the crash and recovery he went through, just to be on the stage. WOW!

You can watch his speech here.

Overall, I thought it was a good Emmys. Take back what Samberg messed up, it could have been great. When I started watching I wanted Amy Poehler and Tina Fey to take over, but now I am all
Final thoughts, Broadcast TV, you got your rear end handed to you! 11 of the major awards went to Streaming or Cable.  Either learn to stream or get cable with it!

Fall is Back and so is new TV!

Finally, we get to the fall season! Cooler temps, the sun sets earlier, the leaves change to beautiful colors! And you know what that means? Real TV is back! We are done with the summer “reality crap” No more of ‘How do I magic this’ or ‘Network burns off this show’ or ‘my Big Brother watches this house’. We get real TV back! The TV I want to watch. And they are several Shows I have set my DVR for.

I will take these in order of the day they show on, and full disclosure, I have seen a couple of the pilots, I will note them if I have.

Monday:

We all know “Gotham” is coming back with it’s new season, ‘Rise of the villains.’ I have not seen the screener for “Gotham” but the trailer looks awesome!

Also, on Monday, Fox will premier it’s new show “Minority Report” based on the Steven Spielberg movie of the same name. I have seen this pilot and although I try to give each show a four episode test…don’t bother.
But if you must look, here is a glimpse ..
Tuesday
Tuesdays are going to be way over loaded this year! We got “Scream Queens” and “The Muppets” (as of this writing, I have only seen the screener for “The Muppets,” which is hilarious!) I will have to watch “Scream Queens” live with you!
But the trailers are here;
Scream Queens
And
The Muppets
Wednesday:
The reboot of “Rosewood” is here! Ok, I have to admit, I loved the original series and I have seen the pilot of the reboot. Against the popular opinion, I actually thought it was a great pilot reboot! Judge for yourself!
Thursday:
Heroes;Reborn
Heroes was great during season one, But let’s not forget what happened during season two and the writers strike!
I want “Heroes” to be the success it was before.
Like it or not…you can be reborn here.
That was just a little of what I will cover this fall!
Remember, TV is great!

New iZombie trailer!

The CDub has released a new trailer for iZombie and it is awesome! Short, but but it gives us our first taste (not sorry for the pun) of what Liv (Rose McIver) will be like.

We get a glimpse of the new Blaine, and Max is in it!

I so want iZombie back on my TV! Besides Jane The Virgin, this is one of CW’s best shows!

Here is the new trailer.

TV news you can use

Just my thoughts for PTV you can use.

You all remember what happened in early May, right? All the broadcast networks presented their shiney new shows for advertisers, in something called the ‘upfronts’. They gave us their schedules, what will be airing when….*record scratch* Wait, What? Only four weeks later every thing has changed!

Let’s start with ABC.

At the up fronts, ABC had “Of Kings and Prophets” airing in their 10 pm East/ 9 Central Sunday time-slot-of-death. (Remember 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, The Gates, American Crime, Revenge? Yeah, me neither) But according to TVline, ABC has pulled “Of Kings and Prophets” for a re-cast, which, in my opinion, will mean a never air. (http://tvline.com/2015/06/02/abc-fall-schedule-quantico-sunday-replaces-kings-and-prophets//) Now “Quantico” which has had its own problems will move into the Sunday time-slot-of-death was originally scheduled to be Tuesday at 10 East/ 9 Central

And NBC:

Well, we were all looking forward to Melissa Georges’ heart wrenching “Heartbreakers” (sorry for the pun!) But NBC has decided to move up another Dick Wolf show in “Chicago Med.” (Okay, seriously! I am moving to Chicago and getting me a job in the PD, FD or Med field!) I digress, NBC has replaced “Heartbreakers” with “Chicago Med” on Tuesday nights, either show will get a significance bump from “The Voice” lead in. (http://deadline.com/2015/06/heartbreaker-pushed-melissa-george-pregnant-chicago-med-fall-launch-nbc-1201438347/)

For FOX and CBS, let’s give them credit! So far they have stuck with their schedules. For now…all schedules are subject to change!

In get your streaming news together:

Orange Is The New Black got released a bit early; not like the orange jump suit prisoners in New York! According to Variety and other sources, you can get out of jail early, or at least watch #OITNB early!

Arrested Development! According to HitFlix, (http://netflixlife.com/2015/06/02/report-arrested-development-season-5-to-hit-netflix-in-2016/) new episodes will be released in 2016…I only have one thing to say, Arrested Development!

In casting news:

Heroes: Reborn

Okay, I might be a lot excited about this show! But in fairness to me, I loved Heroes! But in the news, according to TVLine (http://tvline.com/2015/06/10/heroes-reborn-cast-cristine-rose-returning-angela-petrelli/) Cristine Rose will be reprising her role as Angela Petrelli. and I could not be happier.

Now, Daredevil

Yes, yes, YES! Not only will Vincent D’ be back, but according to CNN and other reports, (http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/09/entertainment/punisher-daredevil-walking-dead-jon-bernthal-feat/) Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead
) will join the cast! Ok, I might be a little excited about Shane and his killing prowess!

In Memoriam this week.

I hope I do not have to do this often!

Lisa paid an amazing tribute to one of the all time greats, Christopher Lee this week! So saddened by his passing! (https://unobtainium13.com/2015/06/12/christopher-lee-r-i-p/)

But let’s not forget Ron Moody, can Fagin ever be played again the way Ron did? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWlHquk8si4) His interpretation of Fagin always leaves me breathless! Not what Charles Dickens did, but what Ron did with Fagin! How he transformed a character!

And Ornette Coleman
The only thing I can say about this amazing man is what he said about himself…”I don’t want to get paid, I just want to get heard, that is why I am broke”!

And I will be back next week with another news round up!
