Trailer: Andor Season 2

The revolution starts…now.

Star Wars fans have been very critical of Disney’s stewardship of the franchise since Star Wars: The Last Jedi landed with a monumental thud with the hardcore fanbase. There hasn’t been much to celebrate anything Star Wars under Disney with a few exceptions like Star Wars: Rogue One, The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew. One Star Wars series that drew critical acclaim from fans and critics alike was Tony Gilroy’s series looking at the origins of one of the main characters from Rogue One and that would be the series Andor.

It was series that no one really wanted since it didn’t involve any of the legacy characters. Yet, under Tony Gilroy’s masterful hands it turned into one of the best shows on Disney+ and, if I daresay, one of the best on tv the year it came out.

It’s going to be almost three years since the first season premiered and, even though the long wait could’ve been a detriment, the second season has been one of the most-anticipated by Star Wars fans. Season 2 of Andor just got it’s first trailer it fetures a very non-Star Wars’y kind of music but very appropriate considering what the season will be about.

I, for one, never thought Steve Earle’s song of rebellion, “The Revolution Starts…” would be the clarion call to start the revolution.

Andor: Season 2 is set for an April 22, 2025 release.

Here’s The Super Bowl Spot For M3GAN 2.0!

Don’t ask me to explain why the M3Gan 2.0 Super Bowl spot was the same as the teaser that’s already been out for a few days.  I’m still trying to understand why there’s been so few Super Bowl movie trailers this year.  It feels like the end of an era.

Anyway, here’s M3GAN 2.0.

Here’s The Super Bowl Teaser For How To Train Your Dragon!

How To Train Your Dragon is getting a live action remake.  I loved the animated film but I’m not sure why we need a live action version.  I mean, the dragons are still going to be animated, right?  Anyway, here’s the Super Bowl teaser!

Here’s The Super Bowl Teaser For Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning!

Here is the Super Bowl teaser for Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning!  This is one film that I definitely cannot wait to see!

(Watch and learn, James Bond franchise!)

6 Trailers For Pop Music Day

According to the good folks at Checkiday, today is Pop Music Day!  In honor of this prestigious holiday, this week’s edition of Lisa Marie’s Favorite Grindhouse Trailers is all about music!

  1. Head (1968)

First off, we’ve got the trailer for Head, starring the Monkees!  This film was co-written by Jack Nicholson.

2. The Great Rock and Roll Swindle (1980)

In the first film that Julien Temple made about the history of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren presents himself as being the genius behind the group and tries to keep viewers from noticing that Johnny Rotten refused to have anything to do with the film.

3.Stunt Rock (1978)

I know next to nothing about this film but it was directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and that’s often a good sign.

4, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)

Featuring Donald Pleasence singing the longest version of I Want You ever recorded!

5. The Decline of Western Civilization (1981)

From director Penelope Spheeris comes the ultimate documentary about 1980s Los Angeles punk rock.

6. The Decline of Western Civilization Part 2: The Metal Years (1988)

The decline continues.

Here’s The Trailer For Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning

The previous Mission Impossible film was one of the best movies of 2023 and the upcoming sequel is one of the films that I can’t wait to see in 2025.  I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the franchise wraps things up.  If nothing else, the Mission Impossible films stand as a reminder of what the Bond films were like before they all got whiny and somber.

Here’s the teaser for Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning!

Here’s The Trailer For Paddington In Peru

We’ve just devoted a month to horror here at the Shattered Lens.

However, even we will admit that there are good films are not horror films.  For instance, there are the films that have been made about an adorable bear named Paddington.  Paddington’s latest adventure is Paddington in Peru, which features him traveling to …. well, it’s right there in the title.

Here’s the latest trailer for Paddington in Peru!

Here’s The Trailer For Presence

Here’s the trailer for Presence, another horror film that could have taken advantage of the scary season but which is instead being released later next year.  Add to that, this is a Steven Soderbergh film.  When Soderbergh’s good, he’s great.  When he’s bad, he’s painfully self-indulgent.

Lucy Liu is cool, though.

Here’s The Trailer For The Damned

The trailer for The Damned was dropped by Vertical Entertainment yesterday.

No, not the Visconti film!  This is a movie about ghost ships and sea creatures and fear in the arctic.  The trailer makes it look like the perfect film for the Halloween season so it’s kind of a shame that it’s instead being released in January of 2025.

Here’s the trailer:
