Music Video of the Day: I Turn To You by Melanie C (2000, Dir. by Cameron Casey)
Let’s hang out with Mel C in Ibiza!
This song is used in Bend It Like Beckham, which is one of my favorite movies. According to Wikipedia, this song is also featured in Viva Forever!, a musical based on the songs of the Spice Girls. There’s a Spice Girls stage musical? Why didn’t I know this?
Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Bag It Up by Geri Halliwell (2000, Dir. by Dawn Shadforth)
Today’s music video of the day is heaven in a box!
Geri Halliwell’s boyfriend doesn’t appreciate her so she drugs him and then brainwashes him. Whatever works! Her boyfriend is played by Aiden Turner, who also played Aiden Devane on All My Children. Aiden left the show in 2009 and it was canceled two years later. Coincidence? I think not.
Back in the day, Lisa and I would annoy the rest of our family by singing this song at the top of our lungs. The only part that we really knew was the part about bagging it up.
Enjoy!
Artwork of the Day: High Heel Magazine (by Peter Driben)
This cover is from December of 1937 and, with the weather getting windy and rainy, I guess it serves as a warning to us all! The cover was done by Peter Driben, who was good enough to sign his work so that there wouldn’t be any doubt.
Music Video of the Day: So Real by Mandy Moore (2000, Dir. by Gregory Dark)
I always think of this video as being Mandy Moore goes to Middle Earth or maybe Narnia.
Enjoy!
Artwork of the Day: Lariat (Artist Unknown)
Artist Unknown
This is from May of 1945. Out of all the covers that I’ve shared over the years, this might be my favorite. Unfortunately, the identity of the artist responsible is unknown.
Music Video of the Day: I Will Remember You by Sarah MacLachlan (1999, dir. by Sophie Muller)
For today’s music video of the day, I present to you one of the most depressing songs ever written!
This is a song that I will always associate with funerals and charity commercials. I feel either sad or guilty every time that I hear it.
Enjoy!
