CONGRATS TO THE RANGERS!

For the first time since 2016, my Texas Rangers are headed to the MLB play-offs!

I got a little nervous, a few months ago, when it seemed like the Rangers had lost all of their momentum and when I saw that they had fallen behind both the Astros and the Mariners in the standings, I started to prepare myself for another disappointment.  I started to feel like it would be another post-season of me having to cheer for the Astros by default.  But the Rangers fought back and finally, after seven years, the Rangers have clinched a play-off berth!

CONGRATS TO THE RANGERS!  Now, win that final game against the Mariners, win the AL West, and keep fighting until the World Series!

Rangers Update!

It’s time for a baseball update!

The last time I wrote about the current season on this site, I was feeling mighty cocky because the Rangers were in first place and all the other teams in the AL West were struggling.  I was excited and, no matter how many times I said that I knew anything could happen, I really was envisioning that World Series victory in my head.

Now, much later into the season, the Rangers have fallen to third.  We are just a few games behind The Mariners and the Astros and anything could happen but it’s still not where I want us to be right now.  I’m not even trying to think about the fact that, if they hit a hot streak, the Angels could even catch up to us.

I’m trying to stay positive, though!  Here’s every Rangers homerun from August!

42 Ranger Home Runs!

Well, would you look at that!

It’s nearly time for the all-star game and my Texas Rangers are leading the AL West!  Right now, the Rangers have a 50-34 record.  That’s still a little bit too close for me (the Astros are only four games behind!) but it still looks like my team finally has a chance to return to the playoffs!  Of course, I don’t want to get cocky.  A lot can change during the second half of the season and it usually does.  Right now, I’m just happy to see my team with a winning record.

To celebrate, here is every home run (all 42 of them!) that the Rangers hit in June!

The Rangers Are 2-0!

Yesterday, the Texas Rangers won their second game of the 2023 season, beating the Phillies by 13 runs!  Congratulations to the Rangers, for getting this season off to a good start.  I know the Rangers aren’t going to win every game this season and I know that there’s a long way to go before the post-season.  But it just feels like this is the season that my team is finally going to get it together.

So, I’m happy.

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers!

I couldn’t let this day end without saying congratulations to my Texas Rangers, who won their first game of the 2023 season today!  After the first three innings, I was feeling pretty down because the Phillies were leading, 5-0.  But then, in the fourth inning, the rangers went from being down by 5 to being up by 4!  We went on to win, 11-7.

That’s why I love baseball.  It’s never over until you get that final out and a good team can always make a comeback.  It’s been a while since I’ve seen that Rangers dominate on offense like that.  I used to feel like the Rangers would give up if they found themselves down by a certain number of runs but I didn’t feel that way watching this game.  Today, the Rangers were determinedto win.  I hope it’s a sign of things to come.

It took them a while but the MLB finally uploaded the game’s highlights.

All Of The Rangers’s 2022 Home Runs!

Good news!  We’ve only got 11 more days to go until the start of the MLB regular season!  Will this be the year that my Rangers finally get it together and return to the post-season for the first time since 2016?  Even if we don’t make the post-season, can we at least have our first winning season in seven years?  I hope so!  But even if we don’t, I’ll still be cheering for my team and whoever represents the AL in the World Series!

(Unless it’s the Blue Jays.)

Here’s a video I found of every single Rangers homerun in 2022!  Watching it and hearing “Gone!” over and over again has got me pumped up for the season!

Opening day is March 30th!  The Rangers will be hosting the Phillies.

Congratulations to the Super Bowl Champions, The Kansas City Chiefs!

The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl!  After trailing for much of the game, they made a comeback in the Fourth Quarter and defeated the Philadelphia Eagles by three points!  The final score was 38-35!  (My prediction was not too far off.)

Sometimes, the good guys win!  Congratulations, Kansas City, and thank you from a weary nation.

It’s Over: Tom Brady Retires

Tom Brady has retired.

It’s over.

The last time Tom retired, he changed his mind a month and a half later and returned to lead the Buccaneers to the playoffs.  On Twitter, there’s already a lot of people making jokes about him changing his mind a second time but I think everyone knows that this Brady retirement is for real.  He’s 45 years old now, playing a game that many players are forced to quit when they’re only in their early 30s.  This season, there were times when Brady struggled but he still led the Buccaneers to the post season.  A struggling Brady was still better than many quarterbacks at their prime.

Tom Brady was the greatest of all time.  He’s also someone who played for so long that there’s an entire generation that doesn’t know of a time when Brady wasn’t one of the most dominating quarterbacks in the league.  Brady played 23 seasons.  People who were born during his first season with the Patriots have graduated from college.  Famously, Brady was picked in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft but, in the end, he was the last member of the class standing.  Brady dominated like a few others.  It was exciting and fun to watch him play, except for one he was playing against your team.

There are, of course, other great quarterbacks in the NFL.  Two of them are about to meet in the Super Bowl.  But Tom Brady retiring is definitely the end of an era and a reminder that time catches up with all of us eventually.  Brady has been hired by Fox Sports to provide commentary during the 2023 season.  I could see Tom Brady doing anything he wants during his retirement.

Let’s not get crazy now.

Personally, I think Tom Brady would make a hell of a coach.  But, whatever he does from this point forward, he’ll always be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.
