I’m Cheering!

Last night, I was tying to not scream in frustration.  Tonight, I’m cheering!

After last night’s humiliating loss, I had to share our victory today.  It wasn’t necessarily a pretty victory.  The Astros never should have gotten within three runs of tying up the game.  But it’s a victory all the same.  It’s a win and I’m happy!

Go Rangers go!

I’m Trying Not To Scream

I haven’t really sad much about the Rangers this season because they’ve really been struggling and I haven’t had much happy news to report.  Right now, everyone is down on the team’s prospects, even though we haven’t even played the All-Star Game yet.  There’s a lot of baseball left to play and you never know when a team might turn their fortunes around.  That’s one of the things that I love about this game.  A team can always make a comeback and I’ve seen the Rangers make plenty.

Still, when I see something like this:

Oh, Rangers!  Why must you break my heart?

I still have faith in my team.  I always have faith in them.  That’s why they’re my team, no matter how many times they left me screaming into a pillow and hoping no one gets the wrong idea.  Rangers, I love you!  Even when you lose to the Astros!

Please don’t do it again.

One More Day To Go!

Only more day to go until opening day!

I’m so excited that I’m going to share one of my favorite moments as a Rangers fan, the day that Rougned Odor punched out Jose Bautista.  This happened nearly 10 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday.  Watch Bautista’s glasses fly!  It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

In Dallas, that moment was preserved in a mural.  Some people didn’t like this mural but baseball fans understood.

Here’s hoping for more classic baseball moments this season!

Just Two More Days To Go!

It’s almost time!

The regular baseball season is almost here!

Spring Training is nearly over.  Opening Day is March 26th.  That’s just two more days!  Some people have the Super Bowl.  Some people have the Oscars.  I’ve got baseball and, even more importantly, I’ve got the Rangers  Sometimes, the Rangers break my heart.  Not every season has been great.  But I can still remember how happy I was when they won their first World Series in 2023.  No one gave them much of a chance but the Rangers proved all the doubters wrong.  I hope they’ll do it again this year.

Whichever team you cheer for, I hope they bring you a lot of happiness over the upcoming months.

Song of the Day: Ode To The Texas Rangers by Mark Singletary Band

I was searching for something on YouTube when I came across this song.  From 1975 to 1980, this song was played before every Rangers home game and also after every Rangers victory!  I listened to it and I loved it.  I wish they still played it.

As for my Rangers this season, they’ve currently got a 36-36 record and they’re in third place in the AL West.  Luckily, there’s still a lot of baseball to be played and the Astros are only leading by five games.  That’s one thing I love about baseball.  You’re never really out of contention, unless you’re the White Sox.

The Rangers Win Their Third Series Of The Season!

I don’t want to jinx anything and the season is not even a month old but right now, my rangers are 7-2 and I’m feeling pretty good.  Yesterday, they beat the Rays 5-2 and today, they beat them 6-4.  I just hope the Rangers can keep winning like this for the entire season because there is a long way to go!

Here are the highlights of yesterday’s game against the Rays!

The Rangers Are 5-2!

The Rangers finally got a day off from playing today.  Personally, I think they more than earned it.  Yesterday, they won their second series of the regular season, defeating the Reds with a score of 1-0.  Two weeks into the regular season and my team is 5-2 and at the top of AL West.  That’s what I love to see!

Tomorrow, they play the Rays.  For now, here’s the highlights of yesterday’s game!

The Rangers Only Need One Run To Win!

1-0 may not be the biggest victory in the history of baseball but I’ll take it!  Coming after a night when the Reds scored 14 runs against the Rangers, I’m happy with our one to zero victory.  Last night, the Reds put on a hitting clinic.  Tonight, the Rangers and Nathan Eovaldi put on a pitching clinic.  Eovaldi pitched a complete game shutout giving up just four hits and striking out eight.  He did not walk a single batter.

Our one run, the winning run of the game, was scored by Wyatt Langford.

The Rangers are now 4-2 and practically tied with the Angels for the lead in the American League West.

Sometimes, It’s Good To Miss A Game

I was feeling bad about missing tonight’s game between the Rangers and the Reds but then I looked at the score — 14-3, Reds — and I realized maybe it was for the best!  Just looking at the numbers, it looks like the Reds put on a hitting clinic and the Rangers had no answer for it.

That’s baseball.  You’re going to lose a few.  Let’s hope this is just a fluke and not a sign of things to come.

Congratulations, Cincinnati!

Go Rangers!
