Artwork of the Day: Mural of Rougned Odor Punching Out Dave Bautista (by Juan Velazquez)

by Juan Velazquez

This mural was outside of Gilberto’s Taco Shop in Arlington.  It depicts one of the greatest moments of baseball history, the moment when Rougned Odor sent Dave Bautista’s sunglasses flying.  I don’t know if the mural is still there.  I know some people were complaining about it so I hope the owner of the taco shop didn’t have to remove it.

This mural was done by DFW artist Juan Velazquez.  I did not take the photograph of it.  I actually don’t know who took this photograph so if anyone does know, please let me know.

The Rangers Have Won The World Series!

The Texas Rangers just won their first World Series!

I AM SO EXCITED AND SO PROUD OF MY TEAM!  A lot of people didn’t think the Rangers had much of a chance in the post-season, especially after we lost our 1st place standing in AL West to the Astros.  A lot of people thought there was no way we would sweep the Orioles.  They thought the Astros has all the momentum in the ALCS.  And when Adolis Garcia and Max Scherzer were injured during the World Series, they thought the team wouldn’t be able to keep up.  But all of the Rangers stepped up and tonight, by a score of 5-0, they beat the Diamondbacks and won their first World Series!

The Diamondbacks should be proud of the effort they made.  They really impressed me, more than the Astros did when they played the Rangers in the ALCS.  When the Diamondbacks make it back to the World Series, I will totally cheer for them as long as they’re not playing the Rangers!

I’m so proud of my team!  They did it!

Go Rangers!

Another Halloween Has Come and Gone

Another Halloween has come and gone and another Horrorthon has come to a close.  We hope you have had a wonderful October and that the Thanksgiving month brings you much to be grateful for!

And remember, just because you didn’t see the Great Pumpkin this year, doesn’t mean that he won’t be there for you next October.  As always, Linus puts it best:

To all of our readers and from all of your friends at the Shattered Lens, thank you.
