Music Video of he Day: Car Wash by Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott (2004, dir by Rich Newey)

This video, which was used to promote the film Shark Tank, is not quite up to the Brady Bunch standard but it’s still a good interpretation of the song.

Music Video of the Day: Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow by Jessica Simpson (2004, dir by ????)

Here’s Jessica Simpson to help get us into the Christmas spirit!  I don’t know if I’m going to get any snow in December but I’ll take some rain and some moderately cold weather.  I love the holidays no matter what the weather may be.

Music Video of the Day: Radar by Britney Spears (2009, dir by Dave Meyers)

In today’s music video of the day, Britney Spears visits a polo mansion and decides that she doesn’t really need a new necklace.  Apparently, the original plan for the video was to have Britney and her friends chasing one guy through several different clubs.  However, in what director Dave Meyers described as being an attempt to “class things up,” the video was instead moved to a mansion and featured Britney flirting with polo players.  Personally, while I think this video is well-done, I think they should have stuck with the original plan.  Britney’s appeal has always been that she doesn’t have to be posh.

Music Video of the Day: Perfume by Britney Spears (2013, dir by Joseph Kahn)

Happy birthday, Britney!

Apparently, there’s a longer version of this video in which it is made clear that Britney’s character is actually an assassin who is hired to kill her former lover but who, when she sees that he still has the ring that she gave him long ago, cannot bring herself to do it.  Her character is subsequently murdered for failing to complete her assignment.  Agck!  I prefer the version of the video that was actually released.

Music Video of the Day: Arrow to the Knee by Kiki Rockwell, featuring Judith (2023, dir by Liam van den Berk)

Today’s music video of the day comes to us from New Zealand.  Though the story is set in the distant past, the video’s theme of innocent women being abducted by entitled men (some might even call them terrorists) feels incredibly relevant to today.

Music Video of the Day: Not Giving Up On Love by Armin van Buuren, featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor (2010, dir by Sophie Muller)

With the temperature projected to be very, very cold for the next few weeks, I figured now would be the best time to share a bit of sunshine.  I like this video’s sleek, retro feel.  Watching it, I was reminded of the films of Alain Resnais.

Enjoy!
