Tonight, at 10 pm et, I will be hosting #FridayNightFlix!  The movie?  1986’s Let’s Get Harry!

When Mark Harmon is taken hostage, the U.S. Government proves that it was just as worthless in 1986 as it is in 2022!  Fortunately, Harmon’s friends are going to let him be forgotten.  Enter Robert Duvall as a soldier of fortune!  This film also features Glenn Frey, Rick Rossovich, Thomas F. Wilson, Gary Busey, and David Hess!  Director Stuart Rosenberg requested to be credited as Alan Smithee.  That’s always a good sign, right?

Gene Hackman, Patrick Swayze, Robert Stack, Tim Thomerson, Reb Brown, Randall “Tex” Cobb, and Fred Ward return to Vietnam to save the POWs who were left behind by the American government.  This action film features a once-in-a-lifetime cast and it even features a bit of dancing from both Tim Thomerson and Tex Cobb!

Michael J. Fox plays a teenager who is also a werewolf!  And a basketball player!  And yes, ultimately, those two things do come together!  It’s the original Hang Time!

Tonight, at 10 pm et, I will be hosting #FridayNightFlix!  The movie?  1989’s Road House!

The name is Dalton!  Everyone thought that Dalton would be bigger but he’s the second best bouncer in the world and if anything happens to Wade Garrett, he’ll be the absolute best.  He’s a legend but can he clean up the wildest bar in Missouri?  Will Ben Gazzara convince him to switch sides?  Will Doc convince him to give peace a chance?  And will Tinker ever get over his fear of polar bears?  Just remember, pain don’t hurt.  Be nice until it’s time not to be nice.  And always check the boots for blades.

This film features Jim Belushi in his greatest role, high school school principal Rick Lattimore!  Rick rides a motorcycle, introduces his students to the concept of “No more!,” and teaches a kid to read!  He extends a hand to drug dealer Victor Duncan.  When Victor threatens to cut Rick’s hand off, Rick replies that he’s got another!  “He’s the principal, man!”  Of course, it all leads to a big afterschool fight.  You don’t become the principal if you don’t know how to throw a punch or two!

It’s figure skating, hockey, and love!  D.B. Sweeney is a former hockey star.  Moira Kelly is a figure skater with a reputation for being a diva.  Terry O’Quinn and Roy Dotrice are the distinguished character actors who are brought in to class the joint up.  Can Sweeney and Kelly win the gold and fall in love at the same time!?

Tomorrow, for #FridayNightFlix, I will be hosting Galaxy Quest!

That’s right!  A film that some people have called the best Star Trek film ever made, 1999’s Galaxy Quest takes a look at what happens when the cast of a cult sci-fi show are abducted from the latest fan convention and are sent into space for real!  It’s a cute concept but what really makes the film work is the cast, with Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, Tony Shalhoub, Justin Long, Rainn Wilson, Daryl Mitchell, and Sam Rockwell all giving great comedic performances.
