Today is National Doll Day and, in order to celebrate, here are a few pictures from my mother’s doll collection. She owned over a 1,000 dolls. About 400 of them are currently staying with me and Lisa. Here are a few of them, all photographed by me.

Is there anything worse than blurry pictures of fireworks on the 4th of July?

Pictures of a Country Cemetery
Because America is a country that is very much divided between the urban and the rural, I always try to feature both of them in the days leading up to Independence Day.
In 2017, I was visiting family in Arkansas when I came this country cemetery. It was a very peaceful day, so peaceful that I was joined by not only a squirrel but also a deer. Ever since that day, the pictures below are what I think about the American countryside.

Whenever I go to the Dallas Arboretum, I see this house sitting on the other side of White Rock Lake. Usually, there’s a Texas flag flying from the flagpole. I don’t know who lives there but I do feel like I know their home.
