Today’s music video of the day brings back some memories, though admittedly the clubs of Denton could not really match the legendary reputation of Studio 54. Still, the important thing is that everyone’s a legend to someone.
Enjoy!

Today’s music video of the day comes to use from Ringo Starr and …. hey, this is the first 2025 video that has been shared on the Shattered Lens! I’m happy to give that honor to the most likable member of the Beatles.
This song is from Ringo’s new country-and-western album. Despite being from the Southwest, I tend to prefer EDM to C&W but still, it’s a nice little song. I like the positivity of it. I honestly feel like my prediction that the 2020s would be a lot like the 1970s is finally starting to come true. People are tired of being depressed and stressed all the time.
Enjoy!
This music video takes me back to the day when I could be as wild as I wanted to be without worrying about any consequences. I kind of miss those days.
Enjoy!
You know, this is a good song by a good singer and good group of backing musicians. (The Wallflowers have had many personnel changes over the years, with Jakob remaining the one consistent member.) Jakob Dylan has always been a little overshadowed by his famous father and, while that’s understandable, it’s definitely a shame. Jakob is a talented artist in his own right and this video shows that.
That said, the main reason I like this video is because of Jakob emerging from the ocean with those big blue eyes. Hi, Jakob!
Enjoy!
I’m sitting here right now, at 2 in the morning, looking out my bedroom window for any sign of the snow storm that the local media has been warning me about for an entire week. The snow may not be here yet but the freezing cold is. Today’s music video of the day feels appropriate.
Enjoy!
Today’s music video of the day comes to us from David Bowie, who would have been 78 years old on this day.
Look Back In Anger has nothing to do with the John Osborne play of the same name but the music video is based on The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Enjoy!
Today, we wish a happy 78 birthday to signer Kenny Loggins. Our music video of the day is for the Oscar-nominated theme song from 1984’s Footloose, which was written and performed by Mr. Loggins.
Enjoy!
Today would have been the 57th birthday of the late director, John Singleton.
Today’s music video of the day is one that Singleton directed. This song (and Ludacris himself) were both featured in Singleton’s 2003 film, 2 Fast 2 Furious. I can remember when 2 Fast 2 Furious first came out. There were a lot of jokes about the stylized title and also the idea of even making a sequel to a film like The Fast and the Furious. That shows how much people knew back then! Today, almost all sequels have a stylized title (though perhaps Die Hard 2: Die Harder deserves as much credit for that as 2 Fast 2 Furious) and The Fast and The Furious franchise appears to be immortal.
Enjoy!
Today, the Shattered Lens wishes a happy 50th birthday to the one and only Bradley Cooper! Today’s music video of the day comes from Cooper’s Oscar-nominated version of A Star Is Born. The chemistry between Cooper and Lady Gaga is still amazing to behold.
Personally, I hope Cooper wins his Oscar soon.
Enjoy!
Director Harmony Korine is 52 years old today. In honor of his birthday, today’s music video of the day is for a song and a music video that was inspired by Korine’s work as a filmmaker. So, watch this and then you can start having that dream again.
Enjoy!
