Music Video of the Day: Girlschool by Britny Fox (1988, directed by Marc Reshovsky)

If the teacher in this video looks familiar, that’s because Nancy Parsons also played the famous (or infamous) Ms. Ballbricker in Porky’s.

Director Marc Reshovsky also directed videos for Poison, Lita Ford, and Skidrow.  He was far more busy as a cinematographer than a director.  As a cinematographer, he worked with basically everyone who was anyone.  Ice Cube, U2, Van Halen, Whitney Houston, Seal, they are just some of the bands who worked with Reshovsky the cinematographer.

Song of the Day: Title Music From A Clockwork Orange by Wendy Carlos

Seeing as how today is Malcolm McDowell’s birthday, it only seems right that today’s song of the day should be one that was used in his best-known film.

The Title Music For A Clockwork Orange was, of course, adapted from Music For The Funeral of Queen Mary, composed by Henry Purcell.

 

 

Song of the Day: Superman March by John Williams

Since today is Superman Day, it only makes sense that today’s song of the day should John Williams’s rousing Superman March from 1978’s Superman.  In this video from 2023, John Williams conducts the Saito Kinen Orchestra.

Music Video of the Day: In God’s Country by U2 (1987, directed by Barry Devlin)

This video is a reminder that the band that no one wants to admits to liking today actually used to really rock.  In God’s Country was off of U2’s best album, The Joshua Tree. While the video still shows hints of the self-importance that would later come to define the band, the song itself is an absolute banger.
