The drought is over!!
The San Francisco Giants are finally World Series Champions for the very first time since moving to San Francisco from New York. This has been a franchise which I call my very first sport’s love. I love the Niners. I love the Warriors. I love the Sharks. But in the end they’re all just mistresses with the Giants being my one true sport’s love.
This year’s team of rookies, cast-off veterans and just plain weirdos ended up being the perfect mixture to finally bring home the MLB World Series trophy to The City by the Bay. I give much respect to the Texas Rangers for giving the Giants all they can handle and even more. Giants fans should celebrate the team winning and give the Rangers their due. We’re Giants fans and not Phillies, Yankees or Red Sox fans so we tip our hats to the opposing team just as we celebrate our own.
The song by Queen and the lyrics in their song fits this Giants team to a T.

(And by Earthquake, I mean the 1974 film starring Ben-Hur, John Shaft, and Marjoe Gortner. Hmmm…now there’s a film that deserves a quickie with Lisa Marie…)

The thumbs down just means two Dodgers’ fans accidentally landed on the post. But it’s all good because it won’t erase the chesire-grin on my face for at least a couple week. 🙂

Okay, we all know that I’m clueless when it comes to sports. I know it, you know it, the world knows it. So, both the excitement and the anger that goes with winning and losing is kinda odd to me. 🙂
But, I finally figured out how to relate! I keep thinking about how I would react if Noomi Rapace won best actress at the 2011 Academy Awards for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. 🙂

This morning, my boss explained to me that the important thing is that the Ranger kepts New York City from getting to the world series. So I guess everyone won except for New York and the Phillies…

It was inevitable that the Giants were going to win the World Series. They beat the best team in baseball, the Phillies, so by default that made them the new best team in baseball. The World Series was merely a formality. (Two guesses who one of the thumbs downers was :P)
But, I’m not entirely without class. After all, I’m just a Phillies fan, I’m not actually from Philadelphia. So, congrats to the Giants for winning it, and watch out for them Phils next year!
