Dear Dazzling, Since you have been bringing back happy memories with these Gothic paperbacks which my Mom devoured so many years ago, allow me to recommend a Gothic novel for you. It is called, ‘The Silent Companions’ by Laura Purcell and my copy is a Penguin trade paper I ordered through Amazon. It is gen uinely creepy and scary with witched, curses, ghosts, torture, an original horror and has a strong double twist ending – though not a happy one.
