Here’s The Second Trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II!

Prim!

The upcoming release of The Scorch Trials (and my total apathy to it, along with my reactions to Divergent and Insurgent) only serves to remind me how much I’m looking forward to the final installment in The Hunger Games saga and how much I’m going to miss it all when it’s over.

(And, after you watch the trailer, why not check out some of our past Hunger Games reviews — like this one or this one or this one or maybe this one.)

Here’s The Latest Trailer for In The Heart of the Sea!

Here’s the latest trailer for In The Heart Of The Sea!  The film may be an Oscar contender so I guess I’m going to have to see it, despite my obsessive fear of drowning.

Plus, it stars Chris Hemsworth!  Hopefully, In The Heart of the Sea will help us forget that he also appeared in Vacation this year.

Here’s The Trailer for Deathgasm!

So, I just watched the trailer for Deathgasm, a new horror comedy from New Zealand and seriously, what else can I say other than…

Oh.  My.  God!

To be honest, when I read that this film was about a heavy metal band fighting a demon, I was kinda like bleh.  I mean, that is so seriously not my type of music.  (If the movie was about a DJ fighting a demon with the the power of EDM, that would be a different story.)  But the trailer is just so over-the-top and crazy that I may have to give Deathgasm a chance.

Here’s The Trailer for The Lobster!

Here’s the trailer for The Lobster!

It’s a film in which a government forces single people to a resort where they are transformed into animals.  (Like a lobster, for instance.)  The film caused quite a stir at Cannes earlier this year and personally, I can’t wait to see it for myself!

Here’s The Trailer for Beasts of No Nation!

Beasts of No Nation.

Could this film be the one that nets Idris Elba his first Oscar nomination?  And, considering that it will be premiering on Netflix at the same time it gets its limited theatrical release, will Beasts of No Nation change the way the films are distributed?  We shall see!

Beasts of No Nation will be released on October 16th.

Here’s The Trailer For The Danish Girl!

Here’s the trailer for The Danish Girl, a film that everyone is expecting to be a major Oscar contender.

They’re saying that Eddie Redmayne might be the first actor since Tom Hanks to win two consecutive awards for best actor.

(By they, of course, I mean my next door neighbor and the cashier who took my money at Victoria’s Secret this weekend.  Seriously, they are Oscar crazy!)

Plus, Alicia Vikander is in it.  She’s in like a 100 films this year.  (You may have seen her in Ex Machina and if you didn’t, you missed a great film.)  She will definitely be nominated for something.  It’s just a question of what.  If The Danish Girl is a big Oscar contender, it could very will be the film that gets her a nomination.

Here’s The Trailer for MacBeth!

Hey, did anyone else ever do high school theater and get violently admonished for loudly yelling “MacBeth!” while wandering around backstage in her underwear?  Or was that just me?

Anyway, here’s the first U.S. trailer for the upcoming Shakespeare adaptation, MacBeth!  This version stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard and, judging from the trailer, it certainly looks dark and gloomy.

Watch it below!

Here’s The Teaser for Carol!

Here’s the teaser for the upcoming film, Carol!

Carol, which is based on a Patricia Highsmith novel and stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, was widely acclaimed at Cannes and it’s expected to be a major Oscar contender.

(Yes, that’s right — Rooney might finally get an Oscar nomination that she actually deserves, as opposed to the nomination she got for David Fincher’s insulting bastardization of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.)

This teaser looks pretty good.  The only thing that concerns me is that director Todd Haynes may have be acclaimed by some critics but I’m Not There was a mess that featured a handful of good scenes and a general sense of incoherent pretension.  And his version of Mildred Pierce was a total travesty, which was mostly rewarded for what it should have been as opposed to what it actually was.

So, Carol could be brilliant.  Or it could be totally overrated.  I look forward to finding out!

Trailer: Let Me Make You A Martyr

Here’s the trailer for Let Me Make You A Martyr, an upcoming crime film that has been getting a lot of attention because it features Marilyn Manson as a hit man.

I’m not sure how I feel about this trailer.  I like the visual atmosphere and it’s look like the film uses Manson to good effect.  At the same time, that droning voice over gets on my nerves.

I’ll be looking forward to discovering whether Let Me Make You A Martyr is another Cold In July or another Paperboy.
