What a week!  A news cycle dominated by Roseanne Barr, Samantha Bee, and Joy Reid served to remind us that we live in a world full of stupid people.  Meanwhile, down here in Texas, the temperature shot up to the triple digits and I’ve still got about 300 things on my To-Do list that I need to get done.  Bleh.

This week started out poorly but it got better on Tuesday.  That’s when I came across an interesting statistic. Only 21% of American adult have a twitter account.  Why is this important?  Because we tend to assume that the worst people online represent all of humanity when, in all reality, most people aren’t even online.  Once I realized that, this week got a lot better!

Anyway, it’s the holiday weekend!  Erin and I spent it at our uncle’s!  I got to work on my tan.  I got to hang out with family.  It was the perfect way to end a week.

I’m back!

So, I spent most of this week in recovery.  At the start of this month, my allergies literally went insane and, due to a sinus infection, I ended up miserable, cranky, and trapped in the house.  It wouldn’t have been so bad if I could have spent that time writing but I was in such misery that I couldn’t think straight.  Seriously, it was terrible.

However, as I sit here writing this, I am feeling a lot better.  I’m not a 100% recovered and I imagine that this whole month is going to be difficult for me.  That’s just the way it is during pollen season!  But, on the plus side, I can think and write again.  This is good because, after being knocked out for a week, I’ve got a lot to get caught up on!  (When you’re naturally hyperactive, a week of doing nothing feels like a year spent in prison.)

Usually, I avoid discussing current events on this site but this has been such a chaotic week that I simply have to start out by mentioning everything that has happened since last Sunday.  Bill Cosby was finally convicted.  Tom Brokaw was finally exposed.  Kanye West tweeted that he loved Donald Trump and the people on both sides of the political divide lost their damn minds.  (And that was all just on Thursday!)  Meanwhile, the Korean War might be over and, as usual, an excessive amount of coverage and discussion was devoted to the annual White House Correspondents Dinner.  (If they had Nerd Prom in the 18th Century, the French Revolution would have stated a decade early.)

As for me,  this week has been a mix of good and bad.  The good part definitely included being interviewed on Ferguson Ink.  It also included Wednesday, which was Administrative Professionals Day.  The bad part has pretty much been this weekend, largely due to a combination of asthma and allergies.  Again, I had to put off my plans to review 28 classic Italian horror films.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to get a start on that project next week.

Remember how last week I said I was going to get caught up with everything?  Well, it didn’t happen.  I got busy last week so I guess I’ll have to get caught up during this upcoming week.  Along with everything else, I’m also planning on watching and reviewing a lot of Italian thrillers and horror films so keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!

The highlight of this weekend was seeing an absolutely wonderful performance of the musical Heathers in Denton, Texas!  Heathers was produced by the Denton Community Theater and if you live near Denton, I suggest catching the show before the run ends on the 15th.

The rest of the week found me a bit less active than in previous weeks and I’m little bit annoyed by that.  I know I say this every week but seriously …. THIS UPCOMING WEEK I AM GOING TO GET CAUGHT UP!
