Here’s the latest extremely adorable trailer for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur!
Enjoy!
Here’s the first trailer for The Revenant, director Alejandro Inarritu’s follow-up to the Oscar-winning Birdman, which I thought was overrated but everyone else in the world seemed to love it.
A lot of people are speculating that The Revenant could be a major player in the 2015 Oscar race and the trailer certainly does look exciting. Leonardo DiCaprio has never won an Oscar and Tom Hardy has never even been nominated, so both of them are due for a little Academy love. Plus, The Revenant co-stars the suddenly very prolific Domhnall Gleeson, who was great in both Ex Machina and Unbroken and who is destined to be nominated some day.
Here’s the trailer for the latest David O. Russell/Jennifer Lawrence/Bradley Cooper/Robert De Niro film, Joy!
Joy is scheduled to be released in December, just in time for Oscar consideration and, judging from this trailer, it looks like it may just get it. After watching this, Joy has gone from being a film that I was barely aware of to being one of my most anticipated films of the year.
(That said, I still think the first trailer for American Hustle is the best trailer of Russell/Lawrence/Cooper/De Niro trilogy…)

When will studios finally realize that showing any video reel, trailer or teaser at Comic-Con’s Hall H will inevitably be leaked if no official release has been made. It’s the nature of the internet and has become a sort of ritual each summer when Comic-Con rolls around. Some studios have been better with whetting the appetite of fans by giving those who can’t make Hall H with something to see. Others seem intent on trying to control what comes out of Hall H. It’s almost as if they’re saying “sucks to be you” if one couldn’t attend Comic-Con and get a seat in Hall H.
This year it seems Warner Brothers is that studio that’s trying to stamp out all the leaked footage shown at this year’s Hall H during their industry panel. It was a panel that was seen as the best thing about the Hall H gatherings. They did the right thing about releasing the latest trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice to the public and not just keeping it for the Hall H crowd. Yet, they whiffed big time by not doing the same for the Suicide Squad trailer (or first look as some call it).
Inevitably some in Hall H were kind enough to turn on their smartphones and video a rough and grainy look at the trailer which was then uploaded onto the internet. This was the first look a majority of comic-book and film fans got of Suicide Squad. Not a good look, but fans were playing this leaked footage nonstop. So, taking a page out of Marvel Studios PR playbook after the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer leaked in a very non-HD version, Warner Bros. has finally surrendered and released an HD-version of the Suicide Squad trailer.
All is right with the world.
The trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice premiered earlier today at Comic Con. Now I have to admit that I don’t really know much about the whole Batman/Superman mythology thing but I do know enough about social media to know that people are really freaking excited about this trailer!
Personally, I think it looks okay. I still have bad memories of Man of Steel, which also had a trailer that everyone got excited about. But you know what? Right now is not the time for naysaying. Right now is a time for optimism so I’ll just say that I hope this film turns out to be good as a lot of my fellow film lovers are expecting it to be.
And who knows? If it turns out to be a good movie, I might even dress up like Gal Gadot for Halloween…
At the very least, this looks better than Damien. It’s good to see that Groovy Bruce is keeping the faith.
…there is hope!
A&E, the network who produced Bates Motel, a sorta prequel to Psycho, is now producing Damien, a sorta sequel to the original Omen. (Apparently, all of the sequels and the remake are being ignored.) So, I guess would have a cross-over event where Norman Bates met the son of the Devil.
But until that happens, here is the trailer for Damien.
The first Sinister scared the Hell out of me when I saw it back in 2012. And it was precisely because the Sinister was so effective that I really don’t think that it needs a sequel. Horror sequels are never as much fun as the originals and if you doubt me, go compare the original Insidious to the films that followed.
But, regardless, Sinister is getting a sequel! And here’s the red band trailer below. Apparently, Ethan Hawke will not be returning. Considering what happened to his character at the end of the first film, that’s probably for the best.
