I know next to nothing about the 1983 film Uncommon Valor, beyond what I read on Wikipedia and the imdb. (It’s an action film. Shit gets blown up.) But, a few days ago, I came across the end credits on Movies TV and I quickly fell in love with the little dance that ends the film.
The dancer, by the way, is a gentleman named Randall “Tex” Cobb, who was apparently a former boxer and who played the Warthog from Hell in Raising Arizona.
Some trivia for you, Lisa: Cobb was born in Bridge City, Texas. He lost to Larry Holmes for the heavyweight title in 1982 in a particularly bloody brawl. He’s got quite an eclectic filmography according to IMBD. Happy Vacation!!

What Tex is doing is not a dance, it’s a Kata, also known as a Form. It is used to show proficiency in Karate.

My husband says it’s like a kata dance (used in martial arts). I LOVE THIS GUY and this movie and have watched it hundreds of times! I still cannot watch this even now without tears. ❤ Sailor, but ❤ Tex more! Tex Cobb ❤
