Here’s The Latest Trailer for Nate Parker’s The Birth Of A Nation!

Here’s the latest trailer for the film that has already been named by many as the front runner in this year’s Oscar race!

Nate Parker’s The Birth of a Nation tells the story of Nat Turner’s slave rebellion.  They went crazy about it at Sundance and you’ll be able to judge it for yourself in October.

Andrea Arnold is Back With American Honey! Check out the Trailer!

I will be the first to admit that it feels strange to admit that I’m actually looking forward to a movie featuring Shia LaBeouf.

(You ever notice how I always say stuff like that, despite the fact that Lawless wasn’t terrible and I enjoyed Fury about as much as I can enjoy any movie about war.  Despite the fact that he’s actually appeared in a lot of decent films, I will always think of Shia as being the whiny kid from The Battle of Shaker Heights.  That is the revolting power of Shia LaBeouf…)

However, I am very much looking forward to American Honey!

And you know why?

Because it’s the latest film from Andrea Arnold, who previously directed the absolutely exquisite Fish Tank.  Fish Tank is one of those films that I watch and I just see myself, who I’ve been and who I could have become.  It’s an amazing film.

Will American Honey be just as amazing?

I hope so!  Check out the trailer below:

There Are Three Things You Should Know Before Watching The Trailer for War On Everyone

Okay, before you watch the trailer for War On Everyone, there are three things you should know!

Number one, this is a red band trailer.  That means that, if you watch it at work or in a public place, you will be immediately arrested and deported to Vermont.  That is not something you want to risk because, as we all know, Vermont is an evil, evil place.

Secondly, this is the latest film from the brilliant Irish director, John Michael McDonagh.  McDonagh directed two of the best films in recent cinematic history, The Guard and Calvary!  (He’s also the brother of Martin McDonagh, who directed both In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths.)  From what I’ve heard, War on Everyone is another McDonagh triumph!

Third, Michael Pena and Alexander Skarsgard play corrupt cops!  After what happened to his honest cop in End of Watch, can you blame Pena for going bad?

Anyway, here is the red band trailer!  It’s full of cursing and all sorts of fun stuff.

Here’s The Trailer for Mrs. Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children!!!!

Is Tim Burton ever going to make another good film?

That’s a good question.  For whatever reason, we are always expected to get excited whenever Tim Burton announces that he’s directing a new movie.  Every year, someone says that Burton’s latest movie is going to be an Oscar contender.  Somehow, Burton has gotten a reputation for being one of our greatest directors, despite the fact that it’s been a while since he’s really done anything that memorable.

(I did like Frankenweenie but both Dark Shadows and Big Eyes put me to sleep.)

(Tim Burton probably should have, at the very least, received several Oscar nominations for Ed Wood but that movie came out a long time ago.)

Anyway!  The latest Tim Burton film that people are getting excited about is Mrs. Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.  This is being called Tim Burton’s X-Men.  It’ll probably be better than Apocalypse.

You can watch the new trailer below!

Here’s The Trailer For Monster Trucks!

It’s not just sharks that you have to worry about!

Apparently, the trucks are planning on turning against us as well!

Check out the trailer below.

Monster Trucks comes out next January, which is traditionally the time of year that the studios release the films in which they have absolutely zero faith.

Sharknado 4 Attacks Las Vegas In This Teaser!

Oh no!  The sharks are back and they’re attacking Las Vegas!

In other words, here’s a teaser for Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens.  It premieres on July 31st on the SyFy network.  Speaking of Sharkando, did you remember to vote as to whether or not April should die?  I voted for April die, just because I’m a sweet little thing with morbid thoughts.

I guess we’ll find out April’s fate on July 31st!

Jon Watts Is Famous Now So, Of Course, Here’s The Trailer For Clown!

Director Jon Watts is having quite a career right now!  Last year, Cop Car was released to considerable acclaim and, as a result, he was hired to direct the upcoming MCU blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming!

Here in America, Cop Car was pretty much sold as being Watts’s first film.  However, that wasn’t really the case.  Before Watts directed Cop Car, he made a movie called Clown.  Clown was executive produced by Eli Roth and, though it did play in Europe in 2014, it was never released in the U.S.

Until now!

Now that Watts is about the become the next big thing, Dimension Films is going to give Clown a limited release in June.

Apparently, Clown is about a man who dresses up like a clown for his son’s birthday party and then discovers that he can’t take off the big red nose.  The clown makeup is apparently demonic and it ends up possessing him.

And apparently, it’s not a comedy.

Anyway, here’s the trailer!  Again, while watching this preview, consider that Clown is apparently not supposed to be a comedy…

Here’s the 2nd Trailer for Star Trek Beyond!

I honestly don’t know much about Star Trek but I have seen both Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6 and, if I didn’t already know that Justin Lin was the director of the latest Star Trek film, I could have guessed from watching the 2nd trailer for Stark Trek Beyond.

(I’m also guessing that Star Trek Beyond is in no way related to Lucio Fulci’s The Beyond, which is a shame really.)

Seriously, judging from this trailer, Star Trek Beyond looks exciting and that should make for a nice change from the last Star Trek film.  It also appears that the Enterprise gets destroyed during Star Trek Beyond so I guess this must be the last movie….

(I’m totally kidding, calm down.)

One final note: somebody needs to make a movie starring Simon Pegg and Karl Urban as two cops who may break all the rules but who … GET RESULTS!

Anyway, until that happens, we can watch Simon and Karl in the trailer for Star Trek Beyond!

Here’s The Second Trailer for The Purge: Election Year!

Here’s the 2nd trailer for The Purge: Election Year!

Will this movie be more like the first Purge film or the second Purge film?  It’s an important question because the first Purge had an intriguing premise but only so-so execution.  Whereas the second Purge film should have been nominated for all sorts of Oscars…

One good sign: Frank Grillo is back!  Then again, it’s not like they could have brought anyone back from the first Purge film because the first Purge film ended with almost everyone dead.  Between the first Purge and Sinister, Ethan Hawke briefly managed to corner the market on unstable father figures who end up dead by the end of the movie.

(Whoops, was that a spoiler or was that two spoilers?  Sorry, I hope you can still love me…)

Anyway, here’s the trailer for The Purge: Election Year!  Feel free to watch it and leave your own comments comparing the Purge to either the Donald Trump campaign or the Hillary Clinton campaign.

(By the way, since this is an election year, I’m planning on doing a twitter poll in October.  I’m going to ask who my 8,000 plus followers think I should vote for.  I will then vote the exact opposite because the world needs a red-headed contrarian.)

(On another note, someone on YouTube mentioned that “It must be a bitch to clean up all the graffiti every year,” and I think he’s right!  I would not want that job!)

(Also, if there was a real-life annual Purge, I would not murder anyone but I probably would do a little shoplifting.  But that’s just me.  You spend your purge the way that you want to…)
