Preview:

The notorious and disgraced circus master, Balthazar Kane, invites an unsuspecting group of social media stars to the revival of his CIRCUS KANE by promising $250,000 to any of them who can make it through the night. Kane’s true plan quickly proves to be far more sinister as the contestants realize more than money is on the line. The group must fight for their lives to escape Kane’s demented house of horrors.

Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) and Mark Christopher Lawrence (Cooties) head up the cast of Christopher Douglas-Olen Ray’s fantastic frighthouse Circus Kane, on VOD this September.

James Cullen Bressack and Zack Ward scripted, based on a story by Sean Sellars. Gerald Webb, Christopher Ray and James Cullen Bressack produce.

Review:

For 250K? What would you do? Step right up…or not? Save your friend…or not?

Admittedly  I  have coulrophobia: I am fracking scared of clowns! It took me several days to watch this movie; and I am not sure I am still okay! I tried to watch ‘Circus Kane’ over a several day time slot. Several days in fact. After a brief viewing I posted a short review; but this will be my final one.

Would I recommend this movie?

On my horror scale of 1-5

4.5 (and watch with your eyes closed!)

Stranger Things: Season 2 official trailer and poster

Revealed at SDCC today, the official trailer for the much anticipated season 2 of Netflix multiple Emmy* nominated original drama is here! And what a ‘Thriller’ of a trailer it is!

I have watched this trailer multiple times now and still can not get over all of the 1980’s nostalgia in it.

I loved this adaptation, actually it took me in from the start.  I completely get where Brett Dejager was going!

Would I recommend this movie?

Review:

Often I don’t like horror movies (actually rarely) But this time I got pulled in, so to speak. This movie will eventually eat at you. Literally EAT AT YOU!  Also, would be a good idea not to cover your eyes!

 

Would I recommend this movie? 

With a blind shot!

Review:

I am going to make this short and sweet:

I love low budget indie films. They are the bread and butter of what I review.  Getty somehow manages to pull me in by keeping a torrent pace, which is a good thing. You never really get to focus on what is right in front of you.

The CGI is just what you would expect. The acting, well the same.

Would I recommend this movie?

Rough week for us #SnarkAlecs; But family sticks together.

As most of you you know, us #SnarkAlecs are a family; each and every one of us. And when something happens to one of us, it happens to each of us.

As a family we have suffered several great losses this week.

The first happened with the passing of our #SnarkAlec Sister Amy Fegaro. At this time it is not sure exactly her cause of death. Her fiancee, Patrick found her unresponsive and they were not able to revive her. Amy was one of the funniest, and at the same time, honest person I have ever known.

Not that that was enough.

Our Sister #SnarkAlec, Janeen lost her Mother. I have never met Janeen’s Mother, but have had many conversations with Janeen about her.  She is a very special woman. She passed away peacefully, which is is some comfort, but there is no words to describe the loss of a parent.

And, lastly, (hopefully for a while)

Our Brother #SnarkAlec Steve Seigh (and Sister #SnarkAlec Bronwyn Kelly’s husband) Lost his Grandmother. Jazz singer, healer and pancake maker.

As much as we all Snark things together; when tragedy strikes our family we all bond together as a family!

Condolences, sharing, and financial pages are being set up now. More on those soon.

I don’t know how to express the deep sadness I feel for the loss my #SnarkAlec family has suffered. This is just a few words I could share.

I love each and every #SnarkAlec family member!

Writer/Director Milko Davis’s ferociously fun ode to golden age creature makes its digital debut June 13!

Review:

At this point I can not guarantee there will not be spoilers: Read ahead at your on caution!

Weighing heavily on a biblical apocalyptic theme, Milko (director) leads us into a world of turmoil and catastrophe.  Starting in the Sambisa Forest of Nigeria leading all the way to post-modern Los Angeles and beyond.

For his first major movie, Milko has a way of challenging social, economic and diversity stereotypes that could well, in a way, define him as a director (and I mean that in a good way).

What did the killer bees bring to the movie? Honestly, not a lot. The CGI was bad, but not unexpected. The acting ways way over-done, but again not unexpected.

I really was surprised with Casandra’s role. Exceptional performance from Thea Saccoliti. She has the best line of the movie. [Jessie: “Did God say anything about me?”] [Casandra: “Nope, but my teddy bear will be ok!”]

If you are looking for a different kind of review:

This movie has ZomBees in it! Literally, I can’t make this up! ZomBees!

TSUNAMBEE 2

“The multidudes [SIC] who sleep in the dust of Earth will awake! Some to everlasting life, others to shame and disgrace.”

Tsunambee will BEE (Ok, forgive that one pun) available on VOD June 13th and for DVD later this summer.

Movie Preview: American Exorcism

First off, let me say, I get a lot of movie screeners. Most just don’t fit my style of reviewing. When I saw this one in my inbox I knew it was right up my ally.

Let’s get the technical out of the way and then we can talk about the movie.

Plot:

Damon Richter thought he left the world of possessions, exorcisms, and evil behind until an old friend arrives with frightening information about his estranged daughter knowing that only his otherworldly skills can save her.

Preview:

Early on we meet Damon (Filipowich) A loving and caring father with some serious past. He uses his possession to fight the possessions of others. Caught in a battle between his family and his possession, he has a choice to make between his family or…..

10 years later; Damon is forced with the same choice again…

Review:

Actually, this is a completely different spin on the classic “Exorcism” story that we all know. Yes, it has some of the same elements, however (without giving spoilers) it is different. And, if you are willing to suspend belief, this is actually a fairly good horror movie.

Complaints:

The CGI left a lot to be desired. I get the budget, but still (no pun intended) it could have been a lot better. Although, as I have watched it twice now, it does add a certain nuance to it.

Overall:

If you are into horror and/or supernatural it is definitely worth the watch!

orphanblackYou all know I love Orphan Black as much as anyone! And I literally just bounced up and down off my seat when I saw the new trailer during BBCA new show ClassDW!

It’s Trumans (Lane Allison) birthday and all of her friends are throwing her an unexpected party when then unexpected Tru shows up. As all of the guest listen in, Tru reviles that she has recently filed for divorce. *Suprise* Oh, wait, I did that early; Tru’s husband, Ian shows up to the party. *SUPRISE* …Umm, awkward!

Then a *trip* down the stairs…

Then let’s fall right into this….six weeks later…with no memory of what is going on….

What is left of your life with no memories? How do you put your life back together?

“I am my new normal”

We all love a marriage counselor who can’t get his stories straight! We just need the “meat and potatoes” of this. I love how the “therapist” turns things on himself!

“What is the last thing you remember” “Pluto being downgraded as a planet”

“Shit…” “And you are going to need to soon” I love how Tru an Ian are getting along now!

Just to be honest, I want somebody to love me the way Ian loves Tru!

There are things we need to talk about:

Especially the *slippery condom* But we will get to that later! I hope!

Can Diane be anymore awesome? (she is pretty damn awesome!)

Review:

Actually, I really loved this pilot of a web series!
