Trailer: Plan 9 and The Voices

PCAS

So the upcoming film Plan 9 is apparently meant to be a remake of Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space.  That sounds like a terrible idea, doesn’t it?

Perhaps The Voices will be better.  This one features Ryan Reynolds, Anna Kendrick, and a talking cat!

6 Trailers For 6 Films That 6 People Might Watch in 2015!

So, I should start out by explaining that this is not the latest entry in my soon-to-be-revived series, Lisa Marie’s Favorite Grindhouse and Exploitation Film Trailers.  Instead, these are 6 trailers for 6 films that you will have a chance to see in 2015!

Seriously, it’s always good to start a new year with something to look forward to, right?

1) 71

This one look intense, no?  Jack O’Connell plays a British soldier who, during the British occupation of Northern Ireland, finds himself lost behind enemy lines in Belfast.  Jack O’Connell is a rising star and the film won best director at the British Independent Film Awards.

2) Veronika Decides to Die

This was actually filmed in 2008, premiered in Brazil in 2009, played in Germany in 2010, and, seven years later, it’s finally getting a U.S. release.  It’ll premiere in theaters and on VOD on January 20th and then, in March, it’ll be released on DVD.  That would seem to indicate that First Look International, the film’s distributor, doesn’t have much faith in it.  But you know what?  Some of the best films ever made were distributed by people who had no faith.  This could be a challenging, edgy film.  Or it could be crap.

We’ll find out!

3) A Little Chaos

This historical drama stars Kate Winslet and it was directed by Alan Rickman!  The trailer looks gorgeous.  I majored in art history so I have to admit that I will always have a weakness for films like this.

4) Woman in Gold

Will Ryan Reynolds ever star in another good film?  That’s a question that I often find myself pondering.  Reynolds is the type of talented actor who deserves more than co-starring in R.I.P.D. and showing up in a cameo in A Million Ways to Die In The West (BLEH!).

While Woman in Gold does not look to be the type of film that’s going to help re-establish Reynolds as being a rising star, it does look like a film that will give him a chance to remind people that he actually can act.  Undoubtedly, it’ll help that he will be co-starring with Helen Mirren.  Woman in Gold is scheduled to be released on April 3rd.

5) Wild Card

It’s not January unless Jason Statham is killing someone.  2015’s Jason Statham film will be Wild Card.  It’ll be released on January 30th.

6) Blackhat

And finally, we have Blackhat.  It’s scheduled to be released on January 16th.  It’s directed by Michael Mann and stars the official sexiest man alive, Chris Hemsworth.  Apparently, Hemsworth will be helping to capture whoever it was who hacked Sony.

3) Corruption (1968)

Oh no!  Not Peter Cushing!

6 Trailers For Father’s Day That Have Absolutely Nothing To Do With Father’s Day

In honor of Father’s Day, this latest edition of Lisa Marie’s Favorite Grindhouse and Exploitation Film Trailers features 6 trailers that have absolutely nothing to do with the holiday.

Enjoy!

1) The X From Outer Space (1967)

The Late Night Movie Crew and I watched this movie last night.  They enjoyed it because it was about a space chicken that destroys Tokyo.  I enjoyed it because one of the main characters was named Lisa.  Let’s take a moment to consider just how much every film could be improved by a Lisa.

2) Space Mutiny (1988)

This trailer is in German so I’m really not sure what’s going on with it.  However, it does feature a little bit of dancing and a bunch of lasers going “pew pew.”

3) The Hideous Sun Demon (1959)

“The blaze of noon made him a monster!”  I feel bad for him, mostly because I’m a redhead so I have firsthand experience with how cruel the sun can be.

4) The Alligator People (1958)

“Her honeymoon turned into a nightmare of horror!”  That’ll happen.

5) The Astounding She Monster (1957)

The Alligator People are no match for the Astounding She Monster.

6) Devil Girl From Mars (1954)

Hmmmm…originally, I was going to be Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow for Halloween but now I’m thinking I might have to be the Devil Girl From Mars.

6 Happening Trailers For The Peace and Love Generation

Welcome to another edition of Lisa Marie’s Favorite Grindhouse and Exploitation Film Trailers!  This week, the trailer kitties braved being hugged and loved by a bunch of hippies to bring back these 6 trailers.  Let’s see what they found!

1) Musical Mutiny (1970)

Let’s start things out with this trailer for a documentary about a bunch of bands that I’ve never heard of.  However, while I may not know the music, how can I not enjoy a trailer that proclaims itself to be advertising a film for a turned on audience?

2) Sting of Death (1965)

This trailer freaked me out a little — largely because of the whole “Death Stalks the Dancers” thing.  Seriously, leave us dancers alone.  Go stalk someone else.

3) The Hippie Revolt (1967)

Those crazy hippies!

4) Unholy Matrimony (1966)

This trailer is definitely NSFW — which makes sense when you consider that this film shows what happens when you mix S.E.X. with L.S.D.  Myself, I just like the histrionic narration.

5) The Hard Road (1970)

The hippie mayhem continues in this trailer.

6) The Hallucination Generation (1966)

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from compiling these trailers, it’s that dropping acid leads to dancing.

What do you think, Trailer Kitty?

Oh no! Hippies!

6 Bronsonrific Trailers For The Month of March

Even as I sit here typing, one of the local channels here in Dallas is currently showing a marathon of Charles Bronson action films.  All of these movies come from the 70s, all of them star Charles Bronson, and all of them feature a lot of people getting shot.

Perhaps that’s why, when I sent the trailer kitties out to gather the trailers for this week’s edition of Lisa Marie’s Favorite Grindhouse and Exploitation Film Trailers, they came back with 6 trailers that can only be described as being Bronsonrific.

1) Mr. Majestyk (1974)

2) The Stone Killer (1973)

3) Cold Sweat (1970)

4) Telefon (1977)

5) Borderline (1980)

6) The White Buffalo (1977)
