You Are The Shooter! Here’s The Trailer for Pandemic!

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming action film, Pandemic.  It’s a zombie apocalypse film that is entirely shot in the first person.  Judging from the trailer … well, it looks kinda awkward.  Since you’re viewing the film through the eyes of a soldier, I imagine that a good deal of the film will be made up of people telling the solider (and by extension, you) to do things.  I don’t know about you but I would have a problem with that.  I don’t like being told what to do, I’m not good at following orders, and I think I would resent a film that would suggest otherwise.

Then again, I really loved Unfriended and that was also shot in the first person.  So, I will try to keep an open eye.  (Not to mention an open mind!)

(Assuming, of course, that I actually see Pandemic…)

Oh my God, Ulli Lommel’s Back and So Is The Boogeyman…

PCAS

Apparently, Ulli Lommel is taking a break from making low-budget serial killer biopics to make another sequel to his 1980 film, The Boogeyman!  This sequel will be titled Boogeyman: Reincarnation, which is an improvement over the previous Boogeyman sequel, Revenge of the Boogeyman.

(As a film blogger writing about Ulli Lommel, I am now contractually obligated to point out that Revenge of the Boogeyman was largely made up of flashbacks to the first Boogeyman film.)

Now, here at the Shattered Lens offices, we have a long-running debate going over whether Ulli Lommel or Uwe Boll is the worst director of all time.  Usually, I pick Lommel but let’s give credit where credit is due.  Both The Boogeyman and The Devonsville Terror had plenty of spooky atmosphere.  They certainly were far better than Curse of the Zodiac or any of Lommel’s more recent films.

(As a film blogger writing about Ulli Lommel, I am now contractually obligated to point out that Curse of the Zodiac is the worst film ever made.)

And the trailer for Boogeyman: Reincarnation may not look great but it doesn’t look as bad as most of Lommel’s films.  In fact, I would even say that Boogeyman: Reincarnation looks almost good enough to be mistaken for a Bill Rebane film!

Anyway, here’s the trailer for Boogeyman: Reincarnation, which has no release date but which will probably end up on Netflix at some point in the future.

It’s Great Detective Pikachu!

Apparently, it’s not just Satan who is solving crimes

Look, I’ll just be absolutely honest here.  I know next to little about Pokemon.  I neither speak nor read Japanese.  I don’t have the slightest damn idea what is actually going on in the video below but it sure is cute!

Apparently, Great Detective Pikachu will be released on Nintendo 3DS in Japan on February 3rd, 2016.  There’s no set date for a Western release.

OMG! HERE’S THE SUPER ADORABLE TRAILER FOR KEANU!!!!!!!

Oh my God, I can’t wait to see Keanu!  Not only does it star the hilarious Key and Peele, it also features one of the cutest kittens ever to show up in a red band movie trailer.  Run, Keanu, run!

Keanu will be in theaters on April 29th!

Here’s the latest trailer for Suicide Squad!

PCAS

I have to be honest.  Up until this point, I haven’t had much enthusiasm for seeing The Suicide Squad and it’s always going to bother me that Jared Leto chopped off all of his beautiful hair.  However, the latest Suicide Squad trailer is actually pretty entertaining!  If the very least, it deserves some credit for its use of Bohemian Rhapsody

We Can Be Heroes If Just For One Day… (David Bowie, RIP)

I have never seen the online community as united about anything as they are today in both grieving and paying honor to David Bowie.

You can read Arleigh’s thoughts on Bowie the film actor here.

And be sure to check out Gary’s overview of Bowie’s career.

As for me, I’m just going to share two videos.  One is the trailer for the German film, Christiane F.  This trailer — which I consider one of the best trailers ever made — is scored to David Bowie’s Heroes. (Both Bowie and the song also play a large and important in the film itself.) Secondly, I want to share a scene that I love, this one from Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds and featuring Bowie’s Theme From Cat People reimagined as an anthem of the French Resistance.

First off, the trailer:

Secondly, the scene:
