Scenes that I love: Angels Live In My Town From Boogie Nights (Happy Birthday, John C. Reilly)

Today is John C. Reilly’s 59th birthday.  This provides me with a great reason to share a scene that I love from 1997’s Boogie Nights.  In this scene, John C. Reilly and Mark Wahlberg star in one of the best films never actually made, Angels Live In My Town.

Brock Landers and Chest Rockwell were quite a team.

  1. A great scene from a great movie. I enjoyed “Boogie Nights” as well even with its deeply uncomfortable subject matter. Paul Thomas Anderson did an incredible job of bringing the adult film industry to the big-screen. Anderson has always excelled at tackling provocative subjects in his movies. If you enjoyed “Boogie Nights”, I would highly recommend seeing “Phantom Thread”. It’s a totally different film focusing on the fashion industry. But it tackles similar themes of obsession. It’s also directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. A vastly underrated film. Here’s why I recommend it:
