Music Video of the Day: Ruby Church by X (2024, dir by Brandise Danesewich)

June was a suck month and July was a tough month and August might be even tougher and suckier.  But X has a new video out and Billy Zoom is standing proud.  There are good things in the world, you just have to be willing to see them.  I’m not giving up.

(As always, thank you for your patience and understanding!)

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: I’m Free by Paris Hilton, featuring Rina Sawayama (2024, dir by Brian Ziff)

After a difficult two weeks, I think I’m ready to come back.  And what better way to return than with Paris Hilton, who is someone who I always try to defend as being more self-aware than she lets on, even though I kind of doubt that’s actually the case.

The video itself is exactly what you would probably expect from a Paris Hilton video.  I’ll leave it to you to decide whether or not that’s a good thing.

Well, I’ve got some work to do around here, don’t I?  Thank you everyone for your patience!  And thank you, Case, Leonard, and Jeff, for holding down the fort while Erin and I were gone.  Peace and love to us all.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Slow An’ Easy by Whitesnake (1984, directed by ????)

Slow an’ Easy was Whitesnake’s first big hit in the United States and the video, which featured the band, a car crash, and an act of strangulation, was Whitensake’s first big video on MTV.  It’s certainly much darker than the video for Here I Go Again.

Slow an’ Easy, by the way, appeared on an album called Slide It In.  Whitesnake was never particularly subtle but they still rocked.

Music Video of the Day: Woman’s World by Katy Perry (2024, dir by ????)

You tell ’em, Katy!

If we’re going to be honest, this video feels a few years late and it’s kind of icky to recruit Dr. Luke to work on a song about female empowerment but whatever.  I like Katy Perry.  I was totally Team Katy when it came to her feud with Taylor Swift.  Seriously, what was all that about?

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Kerosene by Miranda Lambert (2005, dir by Trey Fanjoy)

Continuing this weird country kick that I’m on right now, today’s music video of the day is the classic video for Miranda Lambert’s Kerosene.  Watch as Miranda sets the farmlands on fire!

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: 4x4xU by Lainey Wilson (2024, dir by ????)

I’m usually not a huge fan of country music but I’ve been in a weird mood lately.  Maybe it’s because this was the first 4th of July, in a while, that I didn’t spend up at the lake.  Maybe it’s just because my Dad’s medical situation is making me nostalgic for my past as a country girl.  Who knows?  This video definitely brought back a lot of memories.  I feel like I know these people.  They might as well be my cousins.

Enjoy!
