David Hasselhof appears to be having an existential moment of sorts in this video for his cover version of The Passenger. Of course, since he’s Hasselhoff, it’s still perhaps the most positive existential moment ever.
This is a moody video and I like the atmosphere of doom that it invokes. I would say that it’s actually probably about as effective as any video of the Hoff covering Iggy Pop ever will be.

I like this video because the opening images and the first few notes of the song remind me of some lost Eurospy classic from the late 60s. It has a nicely decadent, Jess Franco sort of feel to it. And that’s always a good thing!

I always like the atmospheric videos and there’s really nothing more atmospheric than performing in the rain. Or, as it sometimes appears to be in this video, performing while blood rains down on you. That’s the sort of thing that will definitely inspire some creativity but it probably takes forever to get that much blood out of your hair.
