Artwork of the Day: The Love Trap (by Ann Cantor)

by Ann Cantor

Two beautiful women and a man? Of course, it couldn’t have been two handsome men and a woman.

This novel was published in 1949. The cover was done by Ann Cantor, one of the few women to have regularly done paperback covers during the pulp era.

  2. Ann Cantor owned Ann Cantor Art Studios in New York. She was previously employed by J. Walter Thompson Advertising. Ann Cantor Studios did a number of paperback covers for Avon Books in the late ’40s / early 50s. Her studio got the copyright credit but she was not the artist. Many of her studio’s cover art actually have the initials of the artists, but their identity remains unknown.
