This new trailer for The Neon Demon really puts the red into red band!

Okay, I’m not sure what that means but it sounds nice and clickbaity so I’ll go with it. Anyway, The Neon Demon is the latest film from Nicolas Winding Refn. Refn, of course, is still beloved around these parts for directing Drive…

….which, come to think of it, is a film that I oddly have no desire to sit through again.

Isn’t it funny how that happens sometimes? You see a film and you know it’s great but, whenever you have a second chance to watch it, you’re just like, “Hmmm…no, once was enough.”

Will I want to rewatch The Neon Demon? I have no idea but Jena Malone is one of my favorite actresses and Elle Fanning was heartbreakingly good in Somewhere. There are a few moments in the trailer that made me think of both Maps to the Stars and Lost River (and that’s not a good thing) but then there were other moments that made me think of Under The Skin (and that is a good thing!)

It actually looks really good! I have to admit that I’m a little bit cynical when it comes to Ben Affleck movies but The Accountant looks really, really good.

Will the movie live up to the trailer? We won’t find out until November. Until then, watch the trailer below and see what I’m talking about!

I Dare You To Watch The Trailer For Nerve!

Below, you’ll find the trailer for the upcoming film Nerve and I dare you to watch it! (Hence, the title of this post. Clever, no?)

So, did you watch it? What did you think? It looks like it might be kind of stupid but, for whatever reason, I want to see it. In fact, Nerve is one of those films that you probably have to see when it’s first released because, two or three years from now, it’ll probably seem ludicrously dated.

Is it a romantic comedy? Is it a multimedia satire? Is it a thriller? I’m not really sure.

But it does feature good-looking people running around in their underwear and we all know that’s what audiences really want.

Nerve comes out on July 27th!

How have I not shared a trailer for The Nice Guys yet?

Every time I see a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, they show The Nice Guys trailer and I can just feel the excitement growing in the theater. Below, you can find both the red band trailer and the safe for work trailer!

The Nice Guys stars Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling and was directed by Shane Black.

Full disclosure: Yes, there was an earlier version of this post where, for some reason, I referred to this movie as being The New Guys, instead of The Nice Guys. What can I say? It’s late, I haven’t had much sleep, and I’ve been celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

Still, it kind of reminds me of how, when the Alamo Drafthouse first opened down here in Richardson, the very first movie they screened was We Are The Millers. The Mayor of Richardson attended and, after the movie, she got on Facebook and wrote about how much she enjoyed “going to the Alamo and watching The Miller Family.”

Literally hundreds of Richardson film lovers left comments, all letting her know that she had lost their vote because she got the title of the film wrong.

Two years later, the mayor resigned.

Coincidence?

I think not!

I loved Gossip Girl but I have to admit that I’ve been skeptical of Blake Lively’s film career. (Remember Savages?) But seriously, judging from this latest trailer, The Shallows looks like it’s going to be amazingly intense! I will be there when the film is released but, considering my morbid fear of both drowning and being attacked by a shark, I will definitely be watching a good deal of the film through my fingers.

Could this film be Blake’s 127 Hours? We’ll find out on June 29th!
