Here’s The International Trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker!

Y’know, I could write up a thousand words or so about this trailer but let’s be honest.  That’s not why you clicked on this link.  You want to watch the damn trailer and I don’t blame you!  Here it is:

Anyway, I’m not going to pretend that I really understand every single thing that’s excited everyone else about this trailer.  I mean, it looks like an entertaining movie and Adam Driver looks really good as Kylo Ren but, as I’ve mentioned in the past, I’m not really a huge Star Wars person.  That said, this looks like it’ll have some exciting moments and I’m looking forward to seeing it.  I’m not looking forward to all the twitter debates about whether or not the film is actually good or not but that’s just a part of life.

Here’s The Trailer For Spies In Disguise

Here’s the trailer for Spies in Disguise, an upcoming animated film that’s going to be released on Christmas!  So, who knows?  If you’re spending the holidays with the family, you may end up having to watch this.  That said, this movie might be kind of fun.  Will Smith getting turned into pigeon definitely has potential.

Here’s the trailer!

Here’s The Trailer For The Invisible Man

Sorry, everyone!  I’ve been so busy this week that I’m a little bit late in sharing this trailer.  All apologies!

Without any further delay, here’s the trailer for The Invisible Man, which features Elisabeth Moss being menaced by her abusive ex!  It appears that, having faked his own death, he is using a formula designed by Moss to torment her without being seen! Seriously, he couldn’t even come up with his own invisibility formula?  What a jerk!

This comes out on February 28th so, if you have a bad Valentine’s Day next year, just remember that you have this to look forward to!

Here’s the trailer!

Here’s The Enigmatic First Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s Next Film, Tenet!

Out of nowhere tonight, we suddenly got the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s next film.  Tenet is a project that has been shrouded in secrecy.  All we know for sure is that it’s an espionage epic of some sort and that it stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson.

And now, we have a trailer, which features Washington doing …. stuff.  It’s hard to say what he’s doing, of course.  It’s an enigmatic teaser, which shouldn’t come as a surprise since this is a Nolan production.

Great music, though.

Here’s the trailer:

Here’s The Trailer For The Witcher!

To be honest, I had my doubt about this project but the trailer actually looks kind of good.

The Witcher, which is based the series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski, tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, who hunts monsters at a time and in a land where it can often be difficult to tell the difference between who is truly a monster and who is not.  Heny Cavill will be playing Geralt in the series and Adrzej Sapkowsi swill serve as a creative consultant.

So, let’s hope for the best when The Witcher drops on Netflix on December 20th!

Here’s the trailer.

Jamie Lee Curtis Tweets A First Look At Halloween Kills!

Well, everyone, Halloween will soon be over for this year but we’ve got 2020 to look forward to!  That’s one good thing about Halloween.  It may have to end but it always returns, resurrected like an angry ghost or vampire.

Or like Michael Myers!

Yes, that’s right.  Michael is returning next year, in a sequel to David Gordon Green’s Halloween.  David Gordon Green’s Halloween, of course, should not be mistaken for Rob Zombie’s Halloween or any other Halloween that came out after the original.  I swear to God, it’s so hard to keep all of these continuities straight.

Anyway, Halloween Kills is coming out next year and everyone’s really excited, even though Halloween Kills is a TERRIBLE title.  Today, in honor of the holiday, Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted out some first-look footage of the film.  And, because we love all of you and like to share, here it is!

To be honest, there’s not much there so it’s hard to say for sure what to make of this footage.  I will say that this is still far superior to the teaser they released for the next Bond film.

Here’s The Trailer For BBC One’s The War Of The Worlds!

Now, this looks really good!

This is the latest of several adaptations of H.G. Wells’s classic tale about Martians invading Earth.  What sets this one apart from some of the others is that 1) it’s set close to the time period that the novel was originally written (the novel was published in 1898 and the new miniseries takes place during the Edwardian era so it’s only a difference of a few years) and 2) it takes place in the country where the novel is actually set.  In other words, the Martians have arrived and it’s up to the British to save us all!

Well, maybe.  Not to spoil the book but let’s just say that humanity didn’t do a very good job when it came to defending Earth from the Martians.

Anyway, this is a 3-episode miniseries which will air on the BBC sometime in the autumn.  (Hopefully in late November or early December, hint, hint.)  Eventually, I imagine that viewers in the States will get to see it.

For now, here’s the trailer!

Here’s The Trailer For Uncut Gems!

I’m a few days late in sharing this but no matter!  Here’s the trailer for Uncut Gems!

I’ve said this in the past but it bears repeating.  If you only knew Adam Sandler from his dramatic performances (in films like The Meyerowitz Stories, Punch Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, Men Women & Children, The Cobbler, and Funny People), you would be totally justified in thinking that he was one of our most acclaimed performers.  I mean, as strange as it may seem to say about the star of Jack and Jill and That’s My Boy, Adam Sandler is a surprisingly cable and versatile actor.

(In fact, I think one reason why we tend to get more annoyed with Sandler’s dumb films — as opposed to the dumb films of so many other comedic actors — is because we actually have evidence that Sandler’s capable of a lot more.  I mean, if you’ve just seen Sandler in Punch Drunk Love, it makes total sense that then seeing Sandler in commercials for Grown Ups 2 is going to piss you off just a little.)

Anyway, Adam Sandler deserved an Oscar nomination for The Meyerowitz Stories.  The early buzz is that he deserves one for Uncut Gems.  Standing in his way, of course, is the fact that he’s Adam Sandler.  But, we’ll see what happens.  The trailer looks intense and the film, which has already gotten some early acclaim, is directed by the up-and-coming Safdie Brothers.

Uncut Gems will be released on December 13th.
