Mia Wasikowska (who was so great in Jane Eyre, Only Lovers Left Alive, and Crimson Peak) returns as Alice in the trailer for the upcoming film, Alice Through The Looking Glass! Johnny Depp will be waiting for her. However, Tim Burton (who previously directed Alice In Wonderland) will only be producing this installment. Directing duties will be handled by James Bobin.
The film will be released on May 27th, 2016 but until then, watch the trailer below!
You know what? Over the past day and a half, I have spent way too much time dealing with the trolls who were apparently offended by my brilliant review of The Leisure Class.
The fact of the matter is that there are other things about which to be excited! For instance, check out this trailer for Charlie Kaufman’s stop motion film, Anomalisa! This film is coming out on December 30th and a lot of people are really excited about it.

Here’s the official U.S. Trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies! On the one hand, the trailer looks good. On the other hand, the film is being released in February and it’s rare that anything good is ever released in February.
Here’s the latest trailer for David O. Russell’s upcoming Oscar contender, Joy! The first trailer was pretty much all Jennifer Lawrence. This trailer gives a few members of the supporting cast a chance to shine.
(That said, we all know that the main selling point of this film will always be Jennifer Lawrence and that shotgun…)
(According to some early rumors that I’ve heard, the film’s best performance might not come from Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, or even Bradley Cooper. I’m hearing that Isabella Rossellini steals every scene in which she appears.)
We finally have the first official trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s follow-up to Birdman which won him a Best Oscar for Director in the 2015 Academy Awards.
He once again teams up with frequent collaborator Emmanuel Lubezki and has attracted the acting talents of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson. A film adaptation of the Michael Punke novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge which itself was based on and inspired by the incredible life of Wyoming frontiersman Hugh Glass (to be played by DiCaprio).
The film has been gaining some major buzz since even before the first teaser came out a couple months ago. Tom Hardy had to drop out of a major role in DC’s Suicide Squad when filming ran behind schedule on The Revenant. The film was also confirmed to be shot using only natural lighting which looks quite evident and beautiful just based on the scenes shown in the trailer.
Will The Revenant make it two in a row for Iñárritu? Or will another prestige films such as The Hateful Eight, also a western thriller set for December 25, 2015 release date as The Revenant steal it’s thunder?
We will just have to find out on Christmas Day (I know I’ll be watching one, the other or both that same day).
I’m the exact same way when I don’t want to wake up.
(Well, not actually. I’ve actually been told that I’m very perky in the morning but then again, I’m weird. Most people seem to be more like Jessica Jones.)
Here’s the trailer for Truth, a film about Dan Rather, Mary Mapes, and a bunch of forged documents. Judging from the trailer, it looks super tedious but I’m sure it’ll get an A from the reviewer at the A.V. Club. This looks like the type of boring political film that I would normally pay money to avoid seeing but since it’s being talked up as a potential Oscar nominee, I guess I’ll have to see it and a lot of other movies that I don’t really care that much about.
For the record, I will totally change my opinion if, at some point during Truth, Dan Rather is heard to say, “Hail Hydra.”
Look, I’ll be honest with you. I made it about halfway through this 2 minute 30 second trailer before the nonstop testosterone got so overwhelming that I stopped watching. From what I saw, Point Break kind of looks like an attempt to do a Fast and Furious-type movie without featuring any of the self-awareness that make the Fast and Furious movies so much fun.
But who knows? I’ve been wrong before.
For some reason, this movie is opening on Christmas Day.
I’m kind of torn as far as the upcoming Steve Jobs films is concerned.
It’s about Steve Jobs, about whom I’m not really that interested.
But it stars Michael Fassbender, who I absolutely love.
It was written by Aaron Sorkin, whose work I usually find to be overwitten and cutesy.
But it was directed by Danny Boyle, who is one of my favorite directors.
Plus, it also features Kate Winslet, who I absolutely adore, and Seth Rogen, who I think could be an intriguing dramatic actor. As well, it looks like it’s going to be nominated for a bunch of Oscars so I’m going to have to see it whether I want to or not.
Here’s the 2nd trailer for Steve Jobs. It’s definitely better than the first trailer.
