Music Video of the Day: Take My Breath Away by The Hospital (2024, dir by Marcelo de la Vega)

Right now, I have a cold so I can relate to the song’s title.  It’s a good song and a straight-forward video.  No, it’s not a cover of the song from Top Gun that played whenever Tom Cruise looked up at the sky.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Studio 54 by TTSSFU (2024, dir by Seth Lloyd)

Today’s music video of the day brings back some memories, though admittedly the clubs of Denton could not really match the legendary reputation of Studio 54.  Still, the important thing is that everyone’s a legend to someone.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Look Up By Ringo Starr (2025, dir by Wyndham Garnett)

Today’s music video of the day comes to use from Ringo Starr and …. hey, this is the first 2025 video that has been shared on the Shattered Lens!  I’m happy to give that honor to the most likable member of the Beatles.

This song is from Ringo’s new country-and-western album.  Despite being from the Southwest, I tend to prefer EDM to C&W but still, it’s a nice little song.  I like the positivity of it.  I honestly feel like my prediction that the 2020s would be a lot like the 1970s is finally starting to come true.  People are tired of being depressed and stressed all the time.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Three Marlenas by The Wallflowers (1997, dir by ????)

You know, this is a good song by a good singer and good group of backing musicians.  (The Wallflowers have had many personnel changes over the years, with Jakob remaining the one consistent member.)  Jakob Dylan has always been a little overshadowed by his famous father and, while that’s understandable, it’s definitely a shame.  Jakob is a talented artist in his own right and this video shows that.

That said, the main reason I like this video is because of Jakob emerging from the ocean with those big blue eyes.  Hi, Jakob!

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Snow Waltz by Lindsey Stirling (2022, dir by Lindsey Stirling)

I’m sitting here right now, at 2 in the morning, looking out my bedroom window for any sign of the snow storm that the local media has been warning me about for an entire week.  The snow may not be here yet but the freezing cold is.  Today’s music video of the day feels appropriate.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Look Back In Anger by David Bowie (1979, dir by David Mallet)

Today’s music video of the day comes to us from David Bowie, who would have been 78 years old on this day.

Look Back In Anger has nothing to do with the John Osborne play of the same name but the music video is based on The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Enjoy!
