The artist Isaac Paul Rader was born and lived in Brooklyn. He studied art in Europe and had his first museum exhibition at the age of 16. Rader is best known for being a prolific illustrator of pulp paperback covers. His work is distinguished by both an attention to detail and an emphasis on strong, seductive women. Rader was so prolific and respected that he was one of the few cover artists allowed to retain his signature on his work.
A sampling of his work can be found below.

Ok, I want to start collecting these books. I know you’re thinking the same, Lisa. How can you not with such titles as these. 😀

I’ve got a few of these type of books because whenever I go into Half-Price Books, I always head straight for the “vintage paperback” section. 🙂 I may have to start reviewing them on this site, in between writing about the movies and True Blood. 🙂
That said, I don’t have a copy of Nympho Librarian and that’s a shame because it looks like it might be the best of all of them. 🙂

I’ve decided that the third picture down (the one over the cover for Her Own Private Hell) should just be called, “A Night With The Bowman Girls.” 🙂

I would recommend a book called “Sin-A-Rama.” It’s full of information on the artists, the writers, and the publishers behind books like Nympho Librarian. It’s where I found most of my information on Isaac Paul Rader.

They don’t write them like that anymore. 🙂
