Music Video of the Day: Get Your Shirt by Underworld & Iggy Pop (2018, dir by Simon Taylor)

Some youtube commenters are already predicting that this will be the theme song of Trainspotting 3.  Personally, I have my doubts as to whether there will ever be a Trainspotting 3 (if just because it took 20 years to get the 1st sequel and you have to wonder just how much long Sick Boy’s going to be able avoid either getting murdered or sent to prison) but still, I love this song and I love this video and therefore, it’s our music video of the day!

This is off the upcoming Teatime Dub Encounters.

Here are the credits for the video, as listed on YouTube:

Video by Simon Taylor (tomato)

Choreographer and Dancer: Carys Staton

Dancers Charley Logan & David Ledger

DOP Matt Broad

Post production by Jan Urbanowski

Men’s clothes by WorkNotWork

Music Video of the Day: Redneck Yacht Club by Craig Morgan (2005, dir by ????)

Apparently, today is American Redneck Day.  That’s one of those holidays that I didn’t even know existed until I came across it on a fun little site called Checkiday.

Now, myself, I’m not a redneck.  Neither is Erin.  But we’ve got enough rednecks in our family that I think we’ve both earned the right to take off work and celebrate this holiday.  I’m not sure how exactly one celebrates American Redneck Day, to be honest.  I’ll probably listen to All Summer Long once or twice and maybe I’ll watch some YouTube videos of people shooting beer cans.  That should be fun.

Anyway, this video is called Redneck Yacht Club and it really makes me want to go up to the lake this weekend.

Enjoy!

Music Video Of The Day: I Will Be Here by Tiesto & Sneaky Sound System (2009, dir by Masashi Muto )

If you want to feel old, consider that this video is nearly 10 years old!

If you want to make those of us at the Shattered Lens Bunker feel really old, remind us that this song came out that same year that this site started!

This video features dancer Mori Koichiro and was filmed in Tokyo.

Enjoy!

Music Video of the Day: Moonlight by Lil Xan feat Charli XCX (2018, dir by Austin Peters)

When I watch this video, I immediately think of despair.

The sleazy motels.  The empty swimming pools.  The landscape of endless emptiness.  It’s all very American and yet it’s also a world that’s inspired some of the greatest American films ever made.  Just look at some of the shots and tell me that you don’t see the spirits of Harry Dean Stanton and Dennis Hopper hanging around in the background.  There’s a beauty in the ugliness of it all.

Enjoy!
