Great illustration. The artist was definitely a well-trained pro. It’s interesting that such a good piece of art made it on the cover of a category of books that were just slightly rip-offs, since they consisted of maybe one new short story, if that, and a bunch of clips from previous work by the author, some or all of which might not have involved the Saint character at all. They were a precursor to today’s late-night ads selling short clips of old songs. But the artwork is work the price.

Update: After posting my comment, I noticed that the cover art is signed. It looks like “Mac.” or “AMC.”, just above the woman’s knee. It might be worth looking-up who the artist was. It is really incredible work. (Graphic art used to be my main gig.)

Thanks! That looks like a Mac to me, too. Sadly, more often than not, the cover artists went uncredited, which is ironic when you consider that the cover was often the best part!
