The ALCS Is Tied Again

Dear Mariners,

You had one job!  You just needed to win Game 6 of the ALCS.  If you had won tonight, you would be going to the World Series and you would have kept the Blue Jays out of the World Series.  Instead, you lost and now the ALCS is tied 3-3.  The Dodgers only needed four games to win the NLCS.  The Mariners and the Blue Jays are having to go to a Game 7!

For me, this has been a frustrating season.  My Rangers started out strong and then fell apart before rallying towards the end of the regular season and then falling apart again.  Now, I’m depending on the Mariners to keep my least favorite team out of the World Series.  And if the Mariners lose tomorrow’s game, it’ll be up to the Dodgers to keep the Blue Jays from winning the World Series.

It’s frustrating but a championship series going all the way to Game 7 is actually what baseball is all about.  This is a big moment for both teams.  Go Mariners!  You’re our only hope!  But if the Blue Jays do win, I’ll be gracious because they earned the victory.  They went from trailing 0-2 to tying things at 3-3.  I’ll congratulate the Blue Jays, right before I start cheering for the Dodgers.

Way To Go, Dodgers!

Baseball update!  The Dodgers have just defeated the Brewers in Game 3 of the NLCS!  The Dodgers now lead the series 3-0 and are one win away from going to the World Series!  As they are the only team that is not from a state (or country) that is at the very top of the lower 48, I am in the unexpected position of cheering for the Dodgers as the MLB postseason reaches its conclusion.

Now, it’s up to the Mariners to defeat the Blue Jays in Game 4 of the ALCS and we will be that much closer to the World Series that I want.

Go Mariners!  Go Dodgers!

Toronto Has Won Game 3 Of The ALCS

I don’t like the Blue Jays and the last thing I want is to see them win any games during the ALCS but, as a baseball fan, I have to give credit where credit is due.  And, as a Rangers fan, I have to share this GIF of Rougned Odor flattening Jose Bautista.

A 13-4 victory over the Mariners cannot be ignored and the Blue Jays got it at the exact time they needed it.  They’re still down in the series, 2-1.  But they’ve proven that they’re not out of this.

I’m depending on you, Mariners.  Don’t let me down!

Congratulations to the Dodgers!

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who earlier tonight won Game 2 of the NLCS, defeating the Brewers by a score of 5-1.

I am happy to say that the Dodgers are currently ahead 2-0 in the series while the Mariners are currently ahead of the Blue Jays, also by 2-0, in the ALCS.  Hopefully, this will mean that the Blue Jays will not make it to the World Series (Thank you, Seattle!) and that the Dodgers will keep the both the Mariners and the Brewers from taking the Commissioners Trophy up north. (Thank you, Los Angeles!)

It’s not ideal but, after the season I just lived through, I’ll take it!

Go Mariners!  Go Dodgers!

Go Seattle!

Congratulations to the Seattle Mariners!  Tonight, they defeated the Blue Jays and won Game One of the American League Championship Series!

I know that I never thought I’d be cheering for Seattle but I’ll support any team that keeps the Blue Jays out of the World Series!  Keep it up, Seattle!  Your three games away from the pennant!

The final score was Mariners 3, Blue Jays 1.

As for the National League Championship, it’s the Brewers vs the Dodgers and I don’t care who wins as long as they can beat Seattle in the World Series!

The Astros Advance!

It may have taken 18 innings to get there but the Astros are going to the American League Championship Series for the sixth consecutive season!  Congratulations to the Astros and a big thank you to Jeremy Pena, whose 18th inning home run gave the Astros a 1-0 victory over the Mariners!

Congrats to the Astros!

Today, in the MLB playoffs, the Yankees/Guardians game was delayed by inclement weather.  However, the Astros did play and they defeated the Mariners by a score of 4-2.  That means that the Astros are just one more game away from advancing to their sixth consecutive championship series!

Congrats to the Astros and good luck to all the teams playing tomorrow.

The Divisional Playoffs: Game 1

The Divisional playoff started today.

In Game One, the Yankees beat the Guardians, 4-1.

The Phillies beat the Braves by one run, 7-6.

And the Astros came from behind to beat the Mariners, 8-7.

I should be happy because I’m from Texas and the Astros are the Texas teams in the playoffs but I actually feel bad for Mariners, who really impressed me in the Wild Card and who were leading for most of today’s game.  I was glad that the Astros pulled off a win but I was sad that it came at the expense of the Mariners.

I’m also happy for the Phillies and their fans.  I know a lot of them were anxious waiting for the Phillies to finally put away today’s game.  A Phillies/Astros World Series sounds good right about now.  I’d even be happy with a Phillies/Mariners World Series.

Right now, in the last of today’s game, it is the top of the 4th and the Dodgers leads the Padres, 5-0.  Usually, I’d say that Dodgers are going to win but, as the Astros proved today, anything can happen before the final out.  That’s one of the many reasons why I love baseball.

Congratulations the Seattle Mariners On The Best Comeback of The Postseason!

Congratulations to the Seattle Mariners, who pulled off one of the most amazing comebacks that I’ve ever seen and defeated the Blue Jays in the Wild Card!  Starting with the sixth inning, the Mariners went from being behind seven runs to winning the game by 10 runs to 9!  This is one of those games that reminds me of why I love baseball!

The Mariners are going to be playing the Astros in the Divisional Series.  I’m a Texan so I’ll have to cheer for the Astros but that doesn’t make me any less proud of the Mariners!

Also, congrats to the Phillies and the Guardians.  The Guardians defeated the Rays 1-0 and are now moving on to play the Yankees in the Divisional.  The Phillies defeated the Cardinals by 2-0 and will now move on to play the Braves.  That just leaves one more Wild Card game for tomorrow, between the Mets and the Padres.  Whichever team wins will face the Dodgers in the Divisional playoffs.

Congratulations to all the advancing teams!
