Jungle Comics ran from 1940 t0 1954 and was full of stories of jungle adventure. Many of them featured Kaanga, the jungle lord, who spent all of his time rescuing people from being sacrificed and eaten by wild animals. Today, Jungle Comics is remembered for its exciting covers. Speed Detective was a crime pulp that was published for four years, from 1943 to 1947. Though many artists contributed covers for Speed Detective, all of the shocking covers below were illustrated by Hugh Joseph Ward.
