He looks like a rat!  This is from 1952.  The artist is unknown.

Though the novel was originally written in 1949, this is cover is form 1957 edition of the book. This edition was published to go along with a film adaptation of the novel.

Normally, this is the type of cover that I would pick to celebrate Spring Training and Opening Day.  But who knows when that’s going to actually happen so instead, consider this cover to be my tribute for what could have been.

This cover is from 1938.  Unfortunately, the identity of the artist is not known.
