Moments #23: The 4th of July In My Town

During the summer, from May to July, one of our local churches plants flags across the town and hangs ribbons on the street signs.  It may not seem like much but it’s something that I look forward to every year.  It’s reminder that we’re more than just a location.  We’re a community.

Celebrate Independence Day With Miss Victory!

With this being Independence Day weekend, it seems appropriate to take a moment and pay our respects to one of the first female super heroes of World War II, Miss Victory!  In an age dominated by super-powered men, she was a woman who simply decided that she could better aid her country by wearing a costume and fighting its enemies.  By day, she was Joan Wayne, a stenographer.  But, when America’s enemies needed a good beat down, she became Miss Victory!

Happy Independence Day From The Shattered Lens!

Happy Independence Day!

This is my favorite holiday,  Today is a day when we think about the past, consider the present, and have hope for the future.  America has been through a lot in its history.  It’s been through a lot in just my lifetime!  Some people like to get down on America but there’s no other country that I would rather live in.  This is my country and I love it.

From the Shattered to Lens to you, have a safe and healthy 4th of July!
