106 years ago today, actor Robert Stack was born in Los Angeles, California.
Though Stack found his greatest success on television and as the original host of Unsolved Mysteries, he also had an active film career. Here he is in 1980’s Airplane!, demonstrating how to provide encouragement and build up confidence.

The terrific oral history of “Airplane!” came out last year and is filled with great stories about the making of the film…especially how all of the legendary Actors who took part had a blast – although Lloyd Bridges told his sons Jeff and Beau that he didn’t “get” much of it. He was worried it would hurt his image but the boys told him it was funny….and many think he stole the movie!
