Its hard to know what to say about the passing of an actor as iconic as Dennis Hopper. It’s probably best to just let Hopper speak for himself.
Lastly, here’s the trailer to Dennis Hopper’s greatest film (as a director and, arguably, as an actor), Out of the Blue:
Dennis Hopper, R.I.P.
He also, in my mind, filmed and directed the most accurate and best film dealing with LA gangs with Colors.

OMG, I forgot he directed Colors. I have to admit that I’ve never seen the entire film but I remember when I was younger, it was one of those movies that always seemed to be playing on HBO and I always caught little scenes of it.
Out of the Blue, to be honest, is one of those films that I sometimes use to define myself, that’s how intensely I relate to it. A lot of that, of course, is because Linda Manz does such a good job in the lead role but Hopper’s direction is also a huge part of why I love that dark and disturbing little movie. I’m going to watch it tonight and I may have to write up a review of it (though I always find its diffilcult to review the movies you truly love, or at least it is for me). If nothing else, a review would give me an excuse to tell the story about how Hopper ended up directing the film and how Raymond Burr ended up getting screwed in the end.
