These were nice and exploity.
I had not heard about the beknighting of the great Christopher Lee. After learning of it here, I searched for an article about the event, and learned, among other things, that Lord Summerisle…I mean, Sir Christopher, is 6’5″ tall, has appeared in over 250 films, and done more sword fight scenes than any other actor.
I’ve always liked this guy. Good for him.

“The Big Gundown” is coming to the Astor Theare in a 2KDCP Restoration.
“Slaughter” is a film that I’ve long wanted to see. For one thing, it stars Jim Brown! I do recall it playing late one night on television many years ago, but it was already well and truly deep into the film. However, I do recall Slaughter’s one-liner about the knife. It also says a lot about American censors how they can be so jumpy about the word “ass” but have no problem with the dreaded n-bomb in a trailer. Aren’t these trailers only played ahead of or after a film with a similar rating?
Hey, there’s Marlene Clark from the Amicus Studios film “The Beast Must Die”! She wore a rather chic looking headscarf in that one, too. Jack Starrett would go on to direct “Cleopatra Jones”. Stella Stevens appeared in the sequel “Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold”.
